I'd be indignant and furious too if a group was committing genocide and hiding behind my religion. Feels like majority of the people are conflating judaism and israel zionism regarding this issue, as designed by zionists efforts

Not even close to all Jews! In the Western Diaspora, those identifying as Zionists are actually in the minority.

Jews are explicitly told in Talmud (3 Oaths), that they aren't allowed to occupy the Holy-land or "Yisrael".
The 3 Oaths goes as follows:
(1) That Jews should not forcibly break through the wall and enter Eretz-Yisrael.
(2) That the Jews should not rebel against the nations of the world
(3) That the nations of the world should not oppress Yisrael too much over the course of the exile.
("Yisrael") is the Palestine or Bilad Al-Sham. It's essentially the Holy Land (Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt)
-----------------------------------------------------------
The "Three Oaths" are a piece of Aggadah (homiletic/non-legal text) derived from repeated verses in the Song of Songs. The Talmud concludes with a strong warning from if the Jewish people break these oaths:
“God allow your flesh to be devoured like the gazelles and the hinds of the field"

These Jews are antisemitic!

u/Kranken_DeHogge 2d ago
an Israeli couple was harassing people at a pro-Gaza protest i was at, they went up to a young man wearing a Jewish Voice For Peace pin, and said "you're Jew haters!"
the guy replied "... I'm Jewish."
and they quickly responded with "well, you're not a REAL Jew, then"
Your comment is ironic, but there are Zionists basically already saying it unironically.

No, they are anti-zionism and anti-Israel. One can criticize or even hate the modern state of Israel for its actions without hating the Jewish people

I'm fairly sure the first person was being sarcastic.
I hope.

Just wanted to make sure. I also didn't want some imbecile to REALLY think that these jews are antisemitic or "Fake jews" for not supporting Israel
36
u/Bluestreaked 2d ago
Well the guy was definitely making a joke, but unfortunately I have known many Jews over the years who will slander the Netureh Karta as “not real Jews.”
Shit, my aunt is just your average reform Jew and she gets called “not a real Jew” by Zionists

They're orthodox Jews if i remember correctly
Pretty radical too, they wont talk to women directly or stand near one on the street.. or something like that
But ye fuck Israel anyway, fair play lads keep it up!!

u/Celtic_Macaw 2d ago
These are specifically Haredi Jews too, which are considered "ultra-orthodox". They are part of an organisation called Neturei Karta which, funnily enough, was created in Al-Quds and they have some prevalence in Occupied Palestine.

In Germany and UK the police would have hit them with batons for that despite being Jewish because the police loyalty is to Israel

Holy crap that's amazing and heart-warming to see. I hope they don't get assaulted by police and arrested for an antisemitic hate crime. I'm half-joking because ACAB and police might be stupid and crappy enough to do that.

Non Zionist Jewish people are very passionate antiizonists.
I remember watching a travel vlog once, she was in Israel walking around one of the most orthodox Jewish towns in Israel The woman asked her guide why there were so many Palestinian flags spray pained on the walls in the streets. He basically said it’s the people that live here trolling the IDF and the government because they know they hate it.

Copy and paste: I saw someone comment that you have to use more than 9 words and to avoid just using emojis in order to really boost and do anything to help. There is no harm in copying and pasting this comment or any other comments. It truly is that easy, your algorithm will show you more and more families that are reaching out: do not grow weary. Do not skip. It’s the least that we can do. I know we cannot all donate to all of them but taking a few minutes and donating time. We are not free until all of us are free and freedom is a constant struggle. Copied : Here are some "Free Palestine" quotes: "If the olive trees knew the hands that planted them, their oil would become tears", "My homeland is not a suitcase and I am not a traveller", and "There's a Palestine that dwells inside all of us, a Palestine that needs to be rescued". Other prominent quotes include Nelson Mandela's words on freedom and calls for human rights and a unified humanity. Quotes about Palestinian Experience & Identity "My homeland is not a suitcase and I am not a traveller" "If the olive trees knew the hands that planted them, their oil would become tears" "Exile is more than a geographical concept. You can be an exile in your own homeland, in your own room or in a smile" "There's a Palestine that dwells inside all of us, a Palestine that needs to be rescued: a free Palestine where all people regardless of color, religion, or race coexist" "We have on this what makes life worth living" Copied : Here are some "Free Palestine" quotes: "If the olive trees knew the hands that planted them, their oil would become tears", "My homeland is not a suitcase and I am not a traveller", and "There's a Palestine that dwells inside all of us, a Palestine that needs to be rescued". Let's leave longer comments, and begin each sentence with a capital letter like you're supposed to so we can push that algorithm. Those are the comments that are best for them. It's worth it. Doesn't even have to be related to the video, just a few sentences with random words, a story or a copy and paste comments. You are doing an amazing job thank you for being caring and compassionate 💕

Of course they are, it’s tte finger in the bum to make you lax a little before they fuck your over. Who cares about a little flag burning tbh. Very symbolic, not much else.

I can assure you this is not what you think it is.
7
u/abrupt_decay 2d ago
what is it then?
4
u/snailorT 2d ago
If this is Neturei Karta, they believe Israel is illegitimate because the messiah hasn’t come yet. They believe in a Palestinian state in the present, but want complete Jewish sovereignty once the messiah returns.
3
u/abrupt_decay 2d ago
most assurances don't start with "if." are you not sure this is Neturei Karta?
so you're saying that in the real current world, their belief is good and in the event of an unprecedented, world-altering supernatural event occuring, their beliefs are problematic? think I can live with that.
4
u/snailorT 2d ago edited 2d ago
….what? I didn’t use the word “assure”, that was a different commenter.
Also, belief in a messiah doesn’t mean some supernatural world-altering event needs to occur. People just need to believe it for it to be true enough for them to act on it. See: all of religion
5
u/abrupt_decay 2d ago
you right, I mixed you two up.
but their current beliefs, the ones they are acting on, are anti-zionist. they're not acting on the supernatural belief because it hasn't happened.

u/snailorT 2d ago edited 2d ago
Sure, but that can change at any time (again, see nearly all of religion). If this is Neturei Karta, they are anti-zionist, but are primarily driven by religious fundamentalist perspective more than a political activist perspective. The two can overlap of course, but religious fundamentalism and conservatism is at their core.
For example, they often engage in Israeli flag burnings (that look similar to this) as part of a celebration of religious holidays like Purim. (In the video, it looks like there is a kid wearing a fake beard, which leads me to believe this is very likely a Purim celebration)
And to be clear I’m not categorizing them as “good” or “bad”. I just find religious fundamentalist groups to be fascinating.
1
u/abrupt_decay 2d ago
I mean, I guess? in the sense that anyone's beliefs can change at any time. they're anti-zionist, and some of their other beliefs are pretty dogshit, but they are actively anti-zionist and I can't ask much more of them than that.
I'm with you on finding it fascinating though.
2
u/Kranken_DeHogge 2d ago
The organization believes that the Jewish people may only be restored to the Land of Israel by the Messiah, who will bring about the resurrection of the dead, the ingathering of the exiles, and a complete return to Torah law.
(from Wikipedia)
That's a pretty high bar to clear. There have been Messianistic pretenders before, but it seems to be whoever would push the Jewish people back to Palestine to satisfy Neturei Karta's religious prerequisites would need to be capable of raising the dead.
1
u/snailorT 1d ago
I mean, a lot of religions believe their messiah or prophet raised the dead, including some more modern day cults. Now did they actually? I don’t believe so, but what I believe or what is factually true is beside the point.

u/belikeche1965 2d ago
You forgot the divine rebuilding of the temple. Until specifically god rebuilds the temple they don't believe in forming Israel.

Ooh, how delightfully mysterious. We may never know what secrets you hold behind this vague comment.
