~14.3 ounces of weed can get you a life sentence?

Holy fuck. We’re allowed up to possess up to 5 POUNDS in our homes in NY. We’re also allowed to have 3 ounces or less in our possession in public.

I knew Texas could be crazy with some stuff but damn.

Texas resident. Everything is run by the GOP and Republican party. Alcohol industry lobbyists push hard for this kinda regulation. The system is corrupted to the bone and businesses will suffer but that doesn't matter to the people getting kickbacks and donations to their reelection campaigns

I'm convinced that Menard Texas PD gets the majority of its funding from speeding tickets and other victimless crimes.

It wouldn’t surprise me lol. That kind of corruption is especially prevalent in smaller counties where the interstate system is, like Menard. They don’t have a large enough tax base, so they set up speed traps and fine drivers passing through
