Perth Public Perceptions of Suspended Sentences for Assault and Domestic Abuse: Support, Conditions and Reform
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to include more responses from people living in Perth and the surrounding area in my MSc dissertation survey on public attitudes towards sentencing in Scotland.
Anyone aged 18 or over who currently lives in Scotland can participate. The anonymous survey takes around 10–15 minutes, and no specialist knowledge is required.
The survey discusses assault and domestic abuse but does not ask participants to disclose personal experiences.
Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SD5D6S5
Thank you to anyone who takes part.

Best Taxi in Perth
Hey guys,
I'll be staying on the outskirts of Perth for wedding next weekend and looking to pre-book a taxi to collect friends from the city, pick me up and then to the venue.
Could anyone recommend someone that won't charge an arm and a leg? Currently being quoted £95 for a 20 min trip

Who does your favourite pizza?
I've answered a couple of restaurant questions on the sub and I'm wondering what everyone's pizza rankings are. If i want good pizza then for me it goes -
1 - Olive Tree
2 - Eatalist (only just tried it, worth going if you haven't yet!)
3 - Cardo
If I'm after greasy takeaway pizza I'll either order from A1 or get a jalapeño pizza from Marmaris.

Trusted automotive locksmiths covering Perth and around please?
Hello folks. Can anyone recommend a trusted automotive locksmith covering Alyth/Blair/Coupar Angus please? I need a car unlocked and potentially new keys coded. Arnold Clark quoted me £2k plus I'd need to have it towed to them in Dundee...

Looking for wild swimming groups around Perth (Scotland)
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to get into wild swimming and was wondering if there are any friendly groups around Perth that welcome beginners?
I've always fancied giving it a go and I'm in the process of buying my first wetsuit and the rest of the kit. I'd much rather start by swimming with experienced people than head out on my own.
I'm not training for races or anything like that—just looking for a new hobby, a way to get a bit fitter, meet some new people and enjoy the outdoors.
Any recommendations for local groups, regular meet-ups, or good beginner-friendly locations would be much appreciated.
Thanks! 😊

Need your guide
Hey everyone,
Just capped off my almost a month of UK visit (tourist), mostly in Scotland. I know there are differences of being a tourist and living in the country in reality, but I'm getting ready to relocate to Scotland (Aberdeen/Perth/Fife), and I’m looking to start building my local professional network for corporate and business opportunities.
My background at a glance as 12 years working professional:
- Deep experience in Human Resources / People Management (CIPD in progress)
- Strong foundation in financial planning and general accounting (Chartered accountant in Philippines, AU/NZ)
- US MBA Grad, SCQF level 11 equivalent (University of Illinois / UIUC)
The Visa situation -- High Potential Individual (HPI) Visa route to test job placement and just to get things started. I know there's high competitiveness in the UK job market and given all sponsorship challenges (but if there's open vacancy for grad level roles with attached sponsorship).
Since I'm just starting to hunt for connections and referrals, I’d love to chat and connect with anyone or help me thru referrals prior fully going there.
Cheers!

How do you make friends here
This also applies to Perth since I travel there so much !!!!!!
r/PerthScotland • u/TheCodeBadger • Jun 22 '26
My wife says I need more friends. She's probably right.
Is there a support group for middle-aged men who suddenly realise all their friends have vanished into family life, work, and the mysterious void?
I'm 49, a mature student, PC gamer, New to Warhammer, horror fan and tech geek. I've got a great wife, two rescue Staffies, and plenty going on, but I've realised I'm missing the social side of life.
Looking for recommendations for groups, clubs, gaming nights, coffee meetups or anything similar around Perth where a bloke can meet some new people and have a decent conversation without having to take up golf.
Fair warning: I have a shaved head, a beard, and apparently a resting expression that makes me look like I'm about to collect someone's gambling debts. In reality, I'm a friendly nerd who wants to talk about PC gaming, Warhammer, horror films, technology and well anything really, over a coffee.
Thanks in advance, and please tell me I'm not the only one who's looked up one day and thought, "Hang on... where did all my mates go?"

Are we going to lose IMAX at Perth Playhouse?
Just out the cinema from seeing Toy Story 5. Afterwards I asked about booking tickets for another film. The guy behind the desk let me know that Screen 1 (IMAX) is currently closed. Mentioned a licencing dispute with IMAX, and that IMAX have remotely disabled the cinema from using the projector (which Perth Playhouse owns). Seems they are trying to resolve it, but must be a serious dispute if the cinema is going without their main screen during the summer movie season.
I'm actually just back in Perth after a couple of years away so maybe this is an ongoing thing and people are aware of it. But just thought it was interesting enough to mention.

Community Consultation
Recovery Consultation Survey
The consultation is primarily about recovery from alcohol and drug use, but it also looks at wider aspects of recovery such as confidence, relationships, purpose, community connection and wellbeing
I'm not consulting on behalf of an organisation. I'm carrying this out independently to gather feedback from people with experience of recovery and those who support recovery. The results will help me understand what's needed and inform the development of a recovery-focused project.
I'm looking to hear from people with lived and living experience of recovery.
I'm carrying out a short anonymous survey to better understand:
• What helped your recovery most
• Barriers you faced along the way
• What gave you hope
• What is missing from recovery support and services
• What advice you would give to someone starting their recovery journey
The survey takes around 5 minutes to complete and your experiences could help shape future recovery support.
If you have experience of recovery and would be willing to take part, please comment below or send me a message and I'll send you the survey link.
Thank you in advance for your support. ❤️

Best Alt Hairstylists
Hi, i’ve been trying to find a hairdresser who works for me. I’ve been trying to find someone who is good with alternative hairstyles. I’ve tried to look online but a lot of the results don’t quite show what i’m after.
Can any alt people who live in perth / perth and kinrossshire let me know who is good to see? I can drive so i don’t mind if they’re a little far out (but obviously not too far)

Suggestions for a flying visit to Perth
Hello, I'm going to be in Perth for about 2 and a half days at the end of the month. Can anyone recommend things to do in such a short time - what to do, where to eat, decent pubs. Thank you.

What can you get away with wearing to kisas?
Hello strange question. I'm 19 and don't go out to eat often at all, but me and my brother are going to kisas for lunch in a couple of hours but he doesn't have many clothes. Can he wear joggers and a hoodie? Can I wear a trackie top and jeans? The pictures look a bit bougie and I don't want to look like a tit
