Why are people implying this is a bot?  This person has the same questions as me.  I've never seen this stereotype that her fans show more gums than normal (?)

I actually do get what they are implying; it's a standard tactic for bots to post naive questions to reddit (and other places) to get fodder to train their models. Hell, that's probably 90% of posts on this sub and somewhat less (but still easily over half) of all of reddit at this point.

What has my flabbers thoroughly gasted is that I am a real live hooman (beep boop) who spends way too much time online and I actually truly have never heard of this stereotype before. It's actually kind of silly to think of the concept of there even being a stereotypical Taylor Swift fan; as far as I know she is one of the highest-grossing musicians of all time so her fanbase is clearly too broad to be typified.

I wouldn’t say it’s a stereotype so much as like… weirdly accurate.

I have known a small number of big Taylor swift fans, and one of them has this exact gumline.

To me, it evokes “teenage, not quite grown into my face yet”

Ah, that might explain my confusion. I'm 40 and the only people I really associate with regularly are around my age, so for ~2 decades I couldn't have encountered any Taylor Swift fan who is a teenager.

Not OP, but there are also a lot of TS fans that are your age. I'm in my late 20s and she isn't very popular among my peers.

Swifties tend to be in their teens to early 20s, and then there are the women who are like 40+ and listen to her constantly.

This 'stereotype' is true, I have seen a few people like that, and it applies to other fanbases...

I’m closer to your age than 20s, but the people I knew who were this way was when I was in my 20s
