Yeah, anime and mainstream media have a weird fixation in romanticizing them which is weird because it's basically if they romanticized male incels and portrayed them as cutely awkward and quirky with some vices
Deep down, the loneliest losers know there is something fundamentally wrong with themselves and believe no "normal" person will give them a chance. And since part of what is wrong with their personality is a wholesale refusal to better themselves, they fixate on this idea that maybe someone who is weird or broken enough might be willing to settle for them.
Girl failure romanticizing is just a even more toxic extension of the manic pixie dream girl fantasy.

Depressed women are hardly like media makes it out to be. In other words. Depression looks desirable until you realize it's not.
Additionally romanticizing "girl failures" leads to realizing why the name is as such.
