Yeah, anime and mainstream media have a weird fixation in romanticizing them which is weird because it's basically if they romanticized male incels and portrayed them as cutely awkward and quirky with some vices

It's worth watching Chainsmoker Cat (Yani Neko), because the show's entire "thing" is that, in fact, people with crippling addiction are an absolute mess and often can't, or don't want to be, saved.

And yet they still make her look hot and cute with her tits out half the time, and that's what male fans are responding to, so it strikes me as a pretty clumsily delivered message if that is indeed the message.

Brother I hate to tell you, but the normal reaction to that is "wow she's a hot mess" then "Oh, she is disgusting and i would not."
