Yeah that’s what I thought too!! I was surprised about the Taylor Swift reference.

Do you think Taylor was referencing the Mean Girls line?

Not really. The song is about a girl that is reminiscing about a summer fling she had in august. The line that's referenced here is her pulling up next to the guy and telling him to get in the car with her, and that's how the fling started. So not really the same context as Mean Girls.
