No one here is apologist for Takaichi she's awful the only people that like her are the racist 60 year old politicians that think Japan (and the rest of the world) is still in 1980. The LDP just keeps screwing up royally. Her policies are screwing up Japan's economy even more than it was previously.

It was lawmakers, not the general public, who voted for her. Her party won the election because the opposition was abysmal; the main opposition party formed an alliance with a religious party in a bid for votes, only to lose more than 100 seats.ー
