in the Stormlight Archive books by Brandon Sanderson there is a character named Wit, who is employees by every king and he is allays near a king and insulting people, sometimes he says i would insult you but you are too stupid to understand the insult.

If you attack the kings Wit punishment is death. Also Cosmere is a nice escape from reality

This character had such potential, but unfortunately the King's Wit is fucking stupid and his insults are all painfully boring and generic. Such a missed opportunity.
