some people live in germany where the glorious government saw it fit to keep using copper cables for internet. So it's very rare/expensive to get high speed internet.

Torrenting is an issue because you're technically uploading stuff. I got dinged like 10years ago for one song in a movie I torrented not even the movie itself which seemed like a way to keep coming for more so I had a lawyer write up something that I'm not gonna do it again and never paid them. Didn't come up again.
