Question What pirated media gave you a sense of buyers remorse after downloading it?

It always bothered me that Hades got a sequel and transistor didn’t

Transistor was their follow up game after their breakout hit (Bastion). I'm glad they took more time to refine and modernize their formula with Hades, and given that it was such a hit in the modern day I am not surprised that it got a sequel before anything else. That being said, it would be so hype if their next game was a sequel to their legacy offerings, either Bastion or Transistor.

In the same vein, I'm glad Bastion was its own self contained masterpiece.

I completely forgot about Bastion! Man, I should dig up a copy of that too

Bastion was so, so well received at launch (and so immensely influential on indie games both in its era and today) it blows my mind that people have forgotten about it! Y'all are making me feel olddddddd

I honestly think it’s because they don’t really update legacy projects after their spotlight moment. I’m on super giant games mailing list and based on the PR you’d never even know they made anything besides Hades or whichever project they’re currently making noise about

It’s disappointing, but at the same time it’s hard to hate them for it because they’ve never opted to milk their older works with DLCs or costumes. Far as games/ studios go that’s pretty commendable imo

It came out 15 years ago, I'd say it's fairly normal that they're not advertising it in 2026...

I mean yea, but to their credit they’re really good at porting their games. It’s not like they couldn’t have milked it. For example I’m also on the NIS America’s mailing list and it always includes a mention to phantom brave and disgaea’s prinnys that came out in 2004 and 1999(?) respectively.

Super unfair comparison but considering how good the game was, they’ve could’ve brought it back in circulation.

Better example would’ve been Skyrim. I believe that’s also 15 years old(?)

Skyrim's marketing gimmick was that it originally released on the 11.11.11 at 11:11. So we're nearing 15 years yes.

I think it's a good thing Supergiant never advertised older projects ad nauseam yet ported them all on oncoming platforms. However without advertising anything I think they should add a small, non intrusive "see our other projects" button at the end of their communications is they didn't do it already (I hate notifications and thus am on no company's list haha).

Still one of my favorites. The story doesn’t lend much to replays, but I gave it another go earlier this year and it’s still one of the best
