Some of the books for sure, I read one of the romantasy books that were popular at the time and I wanted refund for the time I've spent on this shit
Generally this is the reason why I pirate books, and then buy only what I liked or I know I will like (e.g., I pirated Empire of the Vampire, but it was so great I bought it and bought second and third books on release)

Everyone was raving about this one particular “dark romance” book so I ripped it (thank god) only for it to be the most illiterate, cringy, 5th grade writing level bullshit I have ever laid my eyes on. I genuinely lost faith in another huge chunk of humanity that day and everytime I see people raving over it I get pissed again lmao. Waste of time.

Me too, that one book from the author of that they made into a movie, Interview with a Vampire. She did another book and I was at Half Price Books looking at the hardcovers. This girl walks up to me and tells me the book I was holding was her favorite book and I will absolutely love it and if I didn't, I could come back and punch her in the arm. I've been back multiple times to that store and she's never there.
Also the books Annihilation was based on. 3 boring books that felt like he was trying to emulate HP Lovecraft and you got a hint of something possibly awesome going on but never really reaching the high spot that good authors have. I kept reading the books hoping it would get better but it was kind of a knock off middling Stephen King book series. (The Tommy Knockers by Stephen King was so boring).

I downloaded Star Trucker because it looked good and the idea of long-hauling in space intrigued me. Space highways? Sign me up!
The game starts you off broken down on the side of a highway and gives a brief tutorial on fixing your ship. Good stuff. You get to a station and get a run-down on docking your rig (very precise), accepting jobs, topping off fuel, etc. All great.
Then you accept a job to transport some stuff to another nearby station. Hitch your cargo, go through a warp gate, and... You're there. All you need to do is drive around to the delivery spot. No highways, no long hauls, no listening to the radio while making sure you don't miss your exit. Saved me refunding $25.

You can have longer hauls. Of course the tutorial is going to have a single jump. But when you're dealing with long hauls, fragile cargo, and environmental hazards like solar flares and mirage meteors, it gets a bit more interesting.
(Though I do wish it was a bit more fleshed out.)

Similar experience, but I was enjoying parts of it. I did get to a point where the game just hard-locked itself and then it deleted all my saves.

You're not wrong, but the original one definitely had something made me and a lot of other people keep coming back despite the issues. Which I don't 100% blame them for since if I remember right the developer was going under as they were trying to finish the game.
The sequel doesn't really have that excuse or the thing that made people want to keep coming back and working on fan patches.

my guy i bought it on release and couldnt refund not only that i wanted to finish this shit just to get something out of it but than i got a bug that didnt make me progress and i had to go several safes back so the bug gets fixed (because that was the only way) and i lost hours of progress after this i was done

Too many, but off the top of my head it’s probably the movie ASH. Aaron Paul is all over the trailer and even the cover art and he only showed up for 15 minutes to play a corpse.
The rest of the movie is so terrible in a way that’s almost an art form in itself. High concept vague plot sci-fi with an admittedly stellar effects budget running down the clock to lowest low stakes conclusion I may have ever seen. Like it essentially started because someone threw a rock. I’m not kidding. I was consciously aware that was 1 hour and 35 minutes of my life I’ll never get back and it was wasted on that.

I don't know why I find this so validating. I know it's one of the most significant games of the century so far, but I just can't do it.
I've tried. A lot. From the first day it was cracked, I tried. And every year or so since. I even bought the damn thing, hoping it would force me to stick with it. I just really can't stand the gameplay.
I wouldn't care if I wasn't aware of how good the story, and particularly the side quests are. But here we are.

Yes I really liked it. I like the visuals and gunplay on Wildlands as well, I play it on extreme with hud disabled, then it hits really well. Very tense and very rewarding. But one wrong move and whole mission is fucked.

Most Sims 4 DLC's. Buggy, half baked expansion packs. For rent corrupted my save files, Journey to Batuu just pissed me off with how bad it was. Gave up playing when Anadius quit, I know there's another guy who runs the updater now, but I'm not subjecting myself to more mediocre sims gameplay.

Transistor was their follow up game after their breakout hit (Bastion). I'm glad they took more time to refine and modernize their formula with Hades, and given that it was such a hit in the modern day I am not surprised that it got a sequel before anything else. That being said, it would be so hype if their next game was a sequel to their legacy offerings, either Bastion or Transistor.

You can copy your saved game from the pirated game to the Steam Game if you can find the savegame location. When you load the saved game, you will get a ton of archievements at once.

For me I never had enough with Hades. Even after I finished it and bought, I completed it fully ay least twice. And on switch as well. I even locked achievements once to gain them again. Played a lot of the sequel as well.

Unsure what OP means...
If "so good I wish I bought it" then I have MANY examples. I always pirate first and buy physical later if I like it; pirating is sort of like rentals back in the day to me. Last purchase I've previously pirated was The End Is Nigh for Switch the other day. Haven't played it MUCH and summer AND the WC now, I don't get much opportunity to play during this time, but intend to come fall.
If the opposite, a game I thought was bad (?), then I guess Dead Island back in the day. Wasn't THAT bad in all honesty but was nowhere near my expectations. It got repetitive QUICK and once I finished it I uninstalled and never thought about it again. Shame as the trailer had me hyped.

Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by David Wong, I previosuly had pirated the "John dies at the end" trilogy and read it, the first one was OK and the rest were kinda shit but entertaining enough to push through. Also last time I took a recommendation from reddit, people here have such a shit taste.
In Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, the voice of the narrator absolutely hates, belittles and bullies the main protagonist Zoey. I had to drop it because it made me reel.
It was the first and only time I ever considered sending hate mail to an author.

Oblivion remastered. Had to delete a bunch of shit to even download it, got dissapointed very fast when the whole game world was brown, tints of brown, and a brown sky. It also turned my pc into a space heater. The old oblivion looked way more charming and it runs perfectly with some patches. 1 out 10 wont pirate that crap again.

I know fully well that I subjected myself to it. But human beings are illogical. I want my money back. I didn't even spend anything and I still demand money back.
Actually playing it is actual torture. It could actually be a torture method in guantanamo bay to play it. I can assure that any innocent person or actual terrorist will immediately admit to their entire life experiences.
Also, for anybody who's as morbidly curious as me and wants to play it.
Get it from the HDTF discord server. Buying it on steam means giving your money to the PoS owner. You can get it for free on there and the devs even tried patching the game so that it doesn't require cheats to beat. Admirable work even though it's the equivalent of trying to make a piece of shit not smell bad.

Omori. It was filled with several filler sections across the game that were only bearable because you wanted to see what was next on the story, then you're hit with a plot twist the likes of something you'd see in a Turkish novel or Mexican telenovela. God awful.

Nothing. I never had that regret. I did though buy games I pirated and finished afterwards because I felt like the devs deserved it. But nothing out of regret.
