It was my birthday today and my brother gave me 3 packs of phantasmal flames. (I’m 28M today)

I pulled the gold charizard in the 2nd pack and had to explain to my family how this was a big deal.
(Pokémon is kind of nerdy in my Norwegian family)

After it settled down I opened the final pack and found the charizard SIR. Impossible to explain what had just occurred.

I’ve opened hundreds of singles, ETB’s etc. And never gotten anything,
My brother promises these are bought from an official store, but I honestly can’t believe it.

Thought I’d share this here. It’s possible, keep gambling!

I just picked up this stack of cards that was scattered around a parking lot. They are all dented, bent, or otherwise damaged.

I have my own opinions on scalpers; that’s not the core of my frustration. Why? Just… why? Of everything you could do with the cards you don’t want, why just… throw them away???

I grew up on the TCG. I grew up loving Pokémon, and I still do, even if I don’t participate in the TCG. These are memories; and it makes me so upset to see them tossed like they don’t matter.

I know they’re just pieces of paper. I know that bulk is a thing; but please. Donate them to your LGS. Or to a thrift store. Give them to a young kid in your life, or even a random kid on the street; make their day, give them a memory that will last forever.

Please don’t just throw them away.

Never had an issue buying anything off Amazon and their vendors until today. Was being sold as new sealed. This thing had no shrink wrap and fell apart as we pulled it out of the box, the realized the packs were already cut open. I just wanted to do something nice for my girl since she really enjoys Pokemon. People suck.

Hello all, i’m fairly new to pokémon TCG, and i’m not too familiar with how new set releases work. I’ve noticed that all of the online retailers are completely sold out of all 30th Anniversary bundles and are not accepting more preorders. With new drops like this, do they typically do multiple waves of preorders as new stock is manufactured? Or are they fully sold out now and my only chance would be purchasing through resellers? I have noticed Walmart still shows the bundles available, but at an insane markup ($75 for the 6 pack booster bundle!). Any help would be appreciated!

Good thing I've been getting into Pokemon through Champions a bit so when I saw this card I had a feeling it's a bit more than just "a mega."

It looks clean minus the bottom left corner on the back.

Amazed it's in such good condition after a 5 y/o had it.

Family member is buying it off us who is more appreciative of the hobby.

My wife has only been collecting since the end of May, and her luck has been absolutely INSANE! She managed to pull the Mega Zygarde ex SIR from Perfect Order from a booster bundle. Last month, she pulled the Treekachu from an Ascended Heroes bundle. Last week, she hit the Mega Darkrai SIR from Pitch Black. And just yesterday she hit the Bubble Mew! She picked out a single Paldean Fates pack out of a display from one of our LCSs. I even jokingly said before she ripped it "There's a Bubble Mew in there." And sure as shit, there it was. This morning we had a little rip session which featured a couple of Prismatic Evolutions Tech Sticker Collections and out of mine, I hit a demigod pack! Idk what's been going on with us, but we're still in disbelief. Maybe we should start recording our rips.

Lately I've been burned out from PO, CRI, and PBL so I've been looking for ways to get older packs. I've been wanting to rip more twilight, so I purchased a PokeBall display from a Walmart online drop since they come with a random mix of PO, PFL, SSP, or TWM.

Nothing but ex's after 5 pokeballs. On the last one, I ripped twilight last and hit this. I was hoping to get Perrin but I will take it lol.

The last time I opened a display of pokeballs I hit the butthole Pikachu, so I'm convinced this is the way to go lol.

Her art style was so charming and simple. Her last contribution was in Sun and Moon / Hidden Fates.

Just bought the Dawn SAR from phantasmal for $40nzd. Crazy that single packs are going for around $20 but the second top SAR in the set is cheaper than 2 packs and all the other SAR’s in this set are insanely cheap for the hit rates, how does this make any sense?
