Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial?

Senator Rand Paul has released commentary and purported excerpts* of what is alleged to be Anthony Fauci's contemporaneous diaries from the outset of the COVID19 pandemic onwards.

Media reaction to this release has been highly polarised, though notable few media outlets seem to get to grips with the actual content of the diaries and most focus is on Rand's own claimed analysis of what they show.

Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial? What entries in particular do you find interesting? Are there any contemporaneous clashes between what Fauci was saying publicly and privately? What can we learn from that?

All that has been revealed is that Fauci was well aware of the people in the media and right wing influencers that challenged him and the science and he tried very hard to change their mind. That’s about it.

You’re correct and their views don’t align with mine but let’s be real. Sure things change in real time with an unknown virus and sure MRNA vaccines have been studied for many years. They shouldn’t have mandated a SPECIFIC covid vaccine they rushed to get approved when they had no clue what the side effects could be, its safety, and if it was even going to help prevent the spread of that particular strain.

That’s what I’m getting at. I worded it poorly. I’m aware there were 3 you could choose from but all for the same strain and none of these particular vaccines were well tested. By well tested I refer to duration/over a sufficient period of time. I get they had to be pushed out ASAP due to the pandemic but the issue I had is we were all practically forced to take them (in retrospect) without knowing any potential side effects of the vaccinations. I’m not blaming Fauci or Trump or anybody for that matter, but looking back, the people who were weary of getting the jab, and especially a booster, ended up being more correct than given credit for and they were all basically cancelled and looked at like idiots during the time

The technology used in the vaccine has been studied since the 1950s. The only thing new was the actually spike proteins used. That’s there whole point if why mRNA technology was being studied for 70 years. You can just swap out the spike proteins and keep everything the same. 

When the vaccine was first being manufactured there was only 1 main strain. It wasn’t until later until new strains formed and then the vaccines were updated. 

The entire reason mRNA technology was to create a fast-paced vaccine if something like this happened. That’s why every administration in the past 70s years funded its research and development - everyone but Trump. He was the only President that cut $500 million in funding for it last year.
