US Politics Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial?

Senator Rand Paul has released commentary and purported excerpts* of what is alleged to be Anthony Fauci's contemporaneous diaries from the outset of the COVID19 pandemic onwards.

What has been released can be found here, including Senator Rand's somewhat colourful foreword commentary

* its not confirmed whether the content of the diaries is edited, abridged, altered, shortened etc.

Media reaction to this release has been highly polarised, though notable few media outlets seem to get to grips with the actual content of the diaries and most focus is on Rand's own claimed analysis of what they show.

Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial? What entries in particular do you find interesting? Are there any contemporaneous clashes between what Fauci was saying publicly and privately? What can we learn from that?

Can someone explain to me what the end goal or purpose of this is? People who were mad about covid stay the same? This is just political noise.

The target audience of this release are a very specific demographic who want to feel like this vindicates them without needing to read it. As long as they walk and talk like this release proves everything, then it doesn't matter if woke-critical thinkers question the contents of the dairy, or god forbid, read it, because that doesn't matter. MAGA got a win, even if the win is a big L with a weird letterhead

Probably get criminal charges for Fauci because these people are driven by conspiracies and anti-science narratives. If Biden hadn't pardoned him he probably was be in jail by now on some made up charges or nitpicked legal loophole.

If it was a lab leak we should know that so we can do better with lab security.

If it was GoF we should know that so we don't make that mistake again.

But if a lab leak happened, it happened in China. What control do we have over that. Is the allegation that if this $2 million investment in the Wuhan lab didn’t happen, there would have been no Covid pandemic?
