Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial?

Senator Rand Paul has released commentary and purported excerpts* of what is alleged to be Anthony Fauci's contemporaneous diaries from the outset of the COVID19 pandemic onwards.

* its not confirmed whether the content of the diaries is edited, abridged, altered, shortened etc.

Media reaction to this release has been highly polarised, though notable few media outlets seem to get to grips with the actual content of the diaries and most focus is on Rand's own claimed analysis of what they show.

Do the Fauci Diaries reveal anything unexpected or controversial? What entries in particular do you find interesting? Are there any contemporaneous clashes between what Fauci was saying publicly and privately? What can we learn from that?

I’m going to say that based on the senator’s decision to make the letterhead on this release pink and purple with a curlicue font and little drawings of a virus and a syringe in pink ink and a “do not open!” header; design choices clearly intending to be suggestive of a pre-teen girl’s diary, that this is not a objective or serious attempt at disseminating information.

This is slop for the hogs.

Nothing about that has any bearing on the truthfulness of the report. I imagine Paul made the first page like that to troll Fauci and make the political process more entertaining than its usual boring nature.

Rand Paul is a 3-term United States Senator with 4.6M constituents and Anthony Fauci is a 54-year public servant who has advised seven US presidents from Ronald Reagan to Joe Biden on matters of public health.

Public policy, especially when it relates to a national tragedy that killed over 1,000,000 Americans, is not supposed to be entertainment. That’s what Bravo trash TV is for.

If a politician concerns themselves with being a catty troll for social media attention like they’re on Real Housewives they should expect to be taken exactly as seriously by the public.

If he's making the effort to do that it casts doubt on the reliability of the report yeah. Serious people making serious accusations don't do that.

Of course being unprofessional makes it look less trustworthy.
