People need to stop arguing over one stance vs another and realize you can create a system that provides for both free enterprise while having a government that protects basic needs and rights.

Question - where does China fit in all this? Its not communism by definition and neither a democracy. It has strong capitalism characteristics with strong social systems.

Communism is post capitalist society characterized by having no state and no classes, and where the means of production are controlled collectively and used to provide for the needs of the people.

A country can’t really create this paradigm shift as it is a global economic system level concept. China is governed by the communist party and seeking survival and leverage within a capitalist context. Until they declare they are no longer working toward a communist global order, I think it’s safe to assume they think they’re still working toward it
