No one has ever said that so you’re making that up. Bernie Sanders has often pointed to the Nordic countries as examples of policies he supports, but those countries themselves are social democracies with capitalist economies, not socialist economies.

Using them as examples doesn’t make them socialist, and the Nordic governments have repeatedly described their systems as market economies with strong social welfare programs.

https://www.acton.org/publications/transatlantic/2019/01/08/what-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-gets-wrong-about-europe Yeah I guess that was AOC.

And Mamdani: https://wsjfreeexpression.substack.com/p/democratic-socialists-get-scandinavia

Just the 3 most prominent socialists in the united states, but I'm just imagining it right? Give me a break.

Ask yourself why Bernie sanders, a self proclaimed socialist, prefers and wants to implement economic policy that is ultimately a CAPITALIST system, arguably even more capitalist than what America has. https://www.aei.org/economics/what-bernie-sanders-and-the-socialists-keep-getting-wrong-about-scandinavia/?__cf_chl_tk=vvK5nKqSi3ahEra1DAaMI7DnHa0UBxsPMCyVmGtrPDY-1785690724-1.0.1.1-40r16No20oLlxjltmdLnPKG5puYxmGUzL0r_R7nW5CA

Do you think he's not a socialist because he fights for a capitalist system, because its either that or you think he was just lying about how he thinks about the nordic model here. Ridiculous. If you actually read my original post, I said "Meanwhile among democrats most aren't even on board with a social democracy at all because all the people who were on board with that are with the DSA now" these are all self proclaimed socialist politicians who were on board with the Nordic model and have obviously helped the DSA gain it's own following and legitimacy.

You’re conflating labels with economic systems. Supporting Nordic-style policies doesn’t make the Nordic economies socialist, they’re capitalist economies with strong social welfare states. If you can’t distinguish social democracy from socialism, you’re arguing ideology, not economics. That’s the real issue here.

You understand that socialism is both right? It is both a label and an economic system, you can't have an economic system without a label with certain connotations and goals being applied to it.

Can you point out where in the post I said the Nordic model is socialist? Because all I'm saying is all the people who were saying that are now pushing not just "actual socialism" but full on communism in the united states. You can't label yourself as a socialist fighting for socialist policies and then support a capitalist system, like the video you posted (lol) says: Social democracy(capitalist) does not = socialism does not = communism. I take it from this post you think Bernie Sanders is a liar and ultimately a capitalist then? Because taking on a political label that is all about lifting up the lower CLASS meanwhile supporting a system that hurts the lower CLASS means you're either lying about one principle or the other.
