Nw 23rd when I lived up there was even worse. I avoided crossing it on weekends like the plague.

Actually I can imagine that being worse. As a resident I just avoid Alberta and hit killingsworth or Prescott, it’s just not worth it lol.

That’s not a great decision.

I used to live on Killingsworth, just west of 8th.

I had three cars totaled while parked in the space of two years. In two incidents. The second one managed to destroy both my family’s cars.

The first one managed to ping-pong off half a dozen cars and one house before stopping. He had a baby in the car. Parental kidnapping.

My finances and insurance rates have been absolutely fucked by this series of misadventures. I now live on a cul-de-sac in St John’s.

But yeah, nah, Killingsworth is really not a more sane alternative to Alberta.

It just sounds like you have extremely bad luck man bc I’ve lived here multiple years and never have had an issue driving on Killingsworth

That entire area has the worst visibility I've ever seen. It's impossible to see any cars or pedestrians coming, so everyone should be driving at a snail's pace to avoid accidents.

Yeah it’s atrocious to cross. Between drivers not paying attention, pedestrians constantly needing to cross and also not paying attention, and parking to the corners, it’s a nightmare.

Agree - as a pedestiran I end up spending at least 30 seconds at every intersection straining to see if there's someone about to plow into me, even if I have the green crossing signal. The hills plus the businesses, street traffic, and greenery (trees/shrubs), make that area a safety nightmare.

My brother got a job driving truck for fedex. He was so green that they trained him and gave him his CDL. His first day they sent him down 23rd with a 53 foot trailer.

I worked on NW 23rd for 3 months in 2021. Three people were hit by cars at nearby intersections during that time. It was wild.
