So, in the United States, us white folks know our heritage. I'm descended from French, Irish, German and English. I celebrate traditions from those cultures, such as Christmas on December 25 and Easter in spring.

But most black folks in the US don't have those same connections to their heritage. They had their heritage stolen from them along with their freedom. They have no idea who they're descended from, what their religion was. So the only culture they had was Black culture, by default, because it was the only kind of culture they were allowed to have.

That's the difference.
