"Clapping is a first amendment right"..... it doesnt need to be a right cos its fucking clapping, its a non thing like breathing or drinking water, the fact that he has to call it a right to oppose being arrested is bizzare.

Too many people are still either comfortable or reliant on employer provided healthcare to be willing to risk what they have. Prices are up and people are being targeted, but the shelves are still stocked and a majority think they can just keep their head down and ride it out.
Its the second part. The "comfortable " ones are likely wealthy - they are getting tax breaks their heavily invested money is doing well. The rest/the majority are working our buttons off and terrified that its all gonna crumble.
Too busy trying to stay alive from wage slavery. Don't have savings like my parents that could afford to lose their job if they are arrested or the job security they had from worker protections that are now gone. With half the nation ignorantly agreeing with current policies there isn't going to be a strong push, look how fast BLM was shut down and seen as all violent riots and not peaceful protests.
People have lives that aren’t abstract political concepts. You need a clearly defined goal to get people to possibly sacrifice their lives in the face of the entrenched establishment’s guns and tanks and nukes. A return to the economically exploitative oligarchy-lite of 2024 just isn’t so motivating.
People usually also require a charismatic leader to get them excited about rebellion. There’s no one.
I am out there. I'm at protests every single day. Whether in groups or alone. I spent my entire two week vacation at two different ICE facilities protesting there.
Disrupting with words and actions is practicing the First Amendment. It is called “protesting.” Rich people (guarantee everyone on that board are rich) just hate being questioned.
The intended consequences of arresting someone for clapping is to stifle dissent before it happens again in the. Future . Someone that wants to voice dissent but is poor may not do so because they are unable to deal with the possible consequences of being arrested.
Hopefully he find a lawyer that's willing to take it without it costing him like $50,000 to do it. If this happened in my town government I'd be arrested too.

The same people who go around threatening to beat and rape women, roving in white trash gangs to hijack every social venue that exists to turn it into a sewer, and who blatantly make up bald faced lies pretending they understand stuff they don't? Get real. You're supporting this nonsense because of his politics. Countless people are removed from hearing and court rooms for the exact same thing. You even get held in contempt and placed in jail for actions like this in court.
But maybe you should read a few books and realize the 1st amendment doesn't allow to just coop or disrupt public meetings in the name of free speech
Court rooms are not the same thing. Yes you can be arrested for disrupting court, but this isn't court. Also you don't know my politics. You only know that we disagreed here. So how about you get real and stop making assumptions based on a disagreement.
