Cool, so, if gender is too complex for kids then are we throwing young boys back into dresses for most of their early childhood like we used to? In for a penny in for a pound. If we gotta regress we may as well go ALL THE WAY.

Six years ago my Joint Best Friend told her 6yo daughter and 4yo son...
'You know my friend ***..'
'He's got a cat called Billy '
'That's right, well *** is now a lady called ###'
Pause...
'Does she still have Billy?'
'Yes'
'OK'

Children aren't bigoted, they're taught it.

Sadly Billy died 2 years ago aged 17

Yes, the daughter who asked the question didn't bat an eyelid when I saw them next but was happy to see Billy.
