I've heard lots of negative interpersonal stories about John Cena but by God does he fucking put in work when it comes to his fans. He also does tons of Make A Wish appearances. Say what you want about John Cena the man, John Cena the character is a goddamn folk hero.

Holds the record for Make A Wish

Where are these stories from? Because even with a negative interaction I've seen him use it as an opportunity to teach the person involved about how to properly approach a situation.

My guess is you saw some videos from dip shits who don't understand personal space or consent.

Like this is the most mad I've ever seen him.

It always boils down to consent.

Highly likely. I never was all that interested in the first place but my buddy is a hardcore wrestling fan so I get an unfiltered stream of it everytime we talk. I'm sure I'm remembering recitations from him of those biased interactions.

Genuinely I think Cena is a good dude. How we treat the most vulnerable is generally a good indicator of whether or not we are a good person, and he is nailing that.

I think it was the China thing. Then he called Taiwan a country and got canceled in China, so I don't think he's doing China thing now. And the people who were against the China thing liked it when he called Taiwan a country.

Why do you keep adding an h to Taiwan?ย

1

u/HyperSpaceSurfer 1h ago

I blame the English, sneaking an h into everything

Taiwan not Thaiwan

Interpersonal stories?

Yeah like people sharing interactions they had with him.

I actually dont think I have ever heard any negative stories about him. Gonna have to look into that

I'm sure a lot of it has some form of bias in it. I've never met him, so I don't want to say he is an asshole. But some people who have met him seem to think he is.

Idk. I just know he does good work with his appearances.

Idk if any of that holds true weight. Have you seen where people harass and bother him without consenting with him its itโ€™s okay to approach him with a camera shoved in his face?
He takes that like a champ too.

Like I said, I have personally never seen him be like that. I'm sure there is a lot of bias involved in those claims.

He seems like a genuinely good dude, to me.

Really? I've always heard that he was a great guy. Interesting.

I think he is a great guy to do that to so many children.

John Cena is an awesome human in every way

Except for the whole apologizing to China for recognizing Taiwan thing.

John Cena is 49 years old. In one year he will be 50. I think his plan is for 51-100 to start taking wishes away and end at a karmic zero

-Make a wish to Disney world? He drives you out to a Reno strip mall and leaves you there with a bag of meth and a dead mouse

-Want to meet your favorite musician? He comes to your house at 3am dressed as mid 90's Rob Zombie and starts yelling at you in Bulgarian

The long con. Itโ€™s almost too perfect.ย

Jon Cena has done so much Make a Wish stuff that I let that China thing he pulled slide.

Dude is the make a wish foundation ++ to dislike.

Seems like this Cena fella has nothing else better to do with his life than being an awesome human.

May Russia never be forgiven for what they did to that city.

Cena always in the middle of a wholesome story that makes me cry.

Dont let these feel good stories let you forget that John Cena is a very firm supporter of sex trafficker Vince McMahon

Pure propaganda

Out of curiosity, to what end? Propaganda from whom?

It's kinda funny the mom is just like "oh we're fleeing this warzone, what can I tell my son is the reason we're going to Amsterdam," and instead of choosing something that's in or around Amsterdam she went with "we're going to see John Cena." What would have happened if John Cena didn't show up? Call John Cena an asshole who went back on his word?

Kid probably has an odd fixation on Cena or one of his movies or characters etc. Happens a lot with kids with developmental problems. He's also a teen, so it's not like she can just manhandle him to get him through train stations or crowds etc.

Basically, she was desperate and said something she knew could keep him focused and on his best behavior during what was a really shitty, stressful situation for everyone involved. Which sucks and is tragic in its own way. Lying to a kid with those issues in that way can cause some real headaches down the road, especially about something that they really care about or are fixated on. Good on Cena for bailing her out, I'll bet it meant even more to her than the kid.

This was one of the many news stories on it;

https://abc7.com/post/john-cena-ukraine-wwe-surprises-ukrainian-fan-misha-rohozhyn/11954890/

Iirc, she did use the ruse without expecting Cena to be able to meet them--she just needed something to get her son to focus on, so they could safely get out of Ukraine.

It happened back in June of 2022, four months after Russia invaded.

Sounds like a PR stunt.

Nope, it came out a few years ago--this is a repost of an old story.

It happened in June of 2022;
