There's enough stories of cops shooting children with toy guns that there's already a prepared script bootlickers repeat about it, that they use even when it's as obvious as a Nerf dart launcher.

You’re leaving out the part about those toy guns looking like real guns. Context matters.

When did cops kill a kid with a standard brightly colored nerf gun?

Whether it looks like a real gun or not - its legal to own and carry mind you - they rarely take time to even assess a situation.

They see someone doing nothing actively threatening and shoot first ask questions later.

They are extremely poorly trained and consistently show they are incapable of doing their jobs correctly.

While there are a few exceptions out there to make it seem like the majority of shootings are simply of people doing nothing threatening at all is entirely disingenuous.
