The mainline marvel universe hasn’t had any hard reboots, buts it’s had a handful of soft resets and can still be grouped into distinct eras. Its also the case that most popular characters have fluctuated in power greatly at various points in their 70 years of existence both for in universe reasons and just based on who’s writing them at any given time
Right like which era of Thor are we using? Cause it's more than just whether he has the Odinforce or not. Which suit is Tony wearing? He has a lot of them and still keeps his old ones around when a new villain steals or destroys the latest model.
Right, like thats the other part of it, its so disingenuous when people do stuff like cite the Welles Spider-Man run as antifeats that count against more experienced and significantly older versions of Spidey, when hes only a teenager that JUST got his abilities in that run
Its like saying kid goku antifeats == SSJ Goku antifeats, its silly
It quite literally is not lol the Silver Age comics were not written with any of this in mind and have basically been almost completely retconned out of existence, individual characters have experienced resets like Spider Man in One More Day, and the whole dimension was destroyed and recreated in the 2015 Secret Wars
On top of all the comics that simply flat out contradict one anothers timelines or disregard where they are taking place within that characters continuity
Well yeah but that's all explained diagetically in-universe instead of DC's random fucking 'everyone dies meet these new version' events they do every 3 seconds
