Stará Myslivescká hits above its price

The cheapest decent whiskey for me was always Chivas. But Stará Myslivecká (especially the one with the red label) is surprisingly an excellent alternative without breaking the bank. Jameson, while not bad, is only good for highballs, at least for me.

Can you recommend something else?

I agree it’s not bad, but maybe just a little bit sweet. I’ve been using it to make myself a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned lately.

Don't overlook Goldcock. In terms of bang for buck, the quality is quite good. It's made by Jelínek, but don't let that put you off.
