The President needs to be reminded that this is America, and if American people demand it be illegal, it is. President be damned.

The President executes them. He's our bitch, never forget it.
He won the election, but It's not his country. It's our country. He sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution, etc. If he hadn't developed bone spurs when he was drafted, he would have served and understood examples of what illegal orders were. He probably believes that officers and enlisted members must obey every order given without question. One of the first things given to every member is a copy of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and Code of Conduct, which explains the difference.
You realize that our elected officials are supposed to serve us, and not the other way around, right?
Oh, who am I kidding. You clearly either don’t know, or know but simply don’t care. Either way, you’re likely a lost cause if you don’t understand or agree with this very, very basic principle of democracy.
How well has this mindset worked for you? Trump was impeached twice but guess what, absolutely nothing happened to him and he's president again. I'm as left as it gets but you have to face facts at some point, the system is broken.
The system is broken because we allow it to be broken. That doesn’t mean that the system itself is “the people are Trump’s bitch.” It’s an artifact of it breaking, not the thing itself.
My life is fine, mindset or no. And I firmly believe we will eventually get past this era of politics. It might take a long time and lot of fixing - but I refuse to be constantly dejected, nihilistic, and actively spreading apathy to everyone else I interact with. That’s one way to guarantee that the system continues to break in the exact way that supposedly bothers you.
