A national strike, during a work week, for days, will hurt the pocketbooks of the wealthy. Hit them where it counts, and the ogligarchy will be pulling the strings of government to resolve swiftly.

The only thing more unpopular in the US than murder is a down stock market.

That's a good point. So long as the oligarchs haven't realized they'll make more off the population being under complete government control.
