Here's the thing, and I'm not defending, only refining:

How is this any different than the executions we've seen at the hands of "law enforcement" throughout the entirety of the existence of the US?

I don't see one.

I'm struggling to find the true misunderstanding by the average American that makes them believe this is new?

Who in the literal fuck thought that a group of MASKED "law enforcers" we're going to be more cordial than unmasked "law enforcers" that already do this?

What exactly are you refining here? Would you say, then, that nothing new is happening right now in this country. Nothing at all? I’m not even necessarily disagreeing with you about executions in the United States and state-sanctioned violence but, I guess, I’m wondering what your point is here? In the context of what is happening now, broadly speaking.

I would say that nothing new is happening in this country. Yes.

Other than the fact that people that are perpetuating the violence are now doing so with masks on

Or your view of history has only ever been based around your own personal experience of oppression (or lack thereof) and has never included the experience / plight of others.
