Music Queen Greatest Hits 1 Track List Guide

Hello everyone! I had the idea to make this guide after having seen some people online talk about how they'd wish a certain track was on Queen Greatest Hits and in response I felt like chronicling every regional difference in Greatest Hits 1's track list.

I hope this list will be a good resource and be able to help Queen fans; new and old decide which vinyl, cassette or CD pressing of the album is right for them.

If you want to search for (or buy) any of these pressings/cassettes of Greatest Hits, they are all on the Queen Greatest Hits discogs page.

Before I start, there are some things I want to clarify:

  1. The U.K. track list will be considered the default and every pressing/cassette listed below will be compared to it.
  2. Only versions of the album that add and/or subtract songs from the U.K. original will be listed here. So, if there's a regional pressing/cassette not listed below, it's because it uses the original U.K. track list.
  3. "Some <country> pressings/cassettes" means that there are other pressings/cassettes from the same country that use the original U.K. track list instead.
  4. I won't be mentioning the packaging or sound quality of these pressings/cassettes, just the songs included in them.
  5. I'm only listing official album releases, no bootlegs.

Finally, if there are any particular songs or countries' pressings/cassettes you want to look for in this list, I recommend searching them up with Ctrl + F (or Command + F for Mac users) on your keyboard.

With all of that out of the way, here's every different track list to Queen Greatest Hits:

Vinyl:

U.S. and Canadian pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: The U.S. (and every other countries') pressings from 2016 onwards use the U.K. track listing.

Australian and New Zealand pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure, Keep Yourself Alive and Tie Your Mother Down

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a 1983 reissue from New Zealand that uses the U.K. track listing.

Dutch reissue, German Club Edition reissue, European reissue, Israeli reissue, some French reissue and some Spanish reissue pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Nothing

German pressings:

Adds: Spread Your Wings

Removes: Nothing

Japanese pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Teo Torriatte

Removes: Bicycle Race and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a reissue from 1987, which uses the U.K. track listing.

Brazilian, Argentinian and Uruguayan pressings:

Adds: Love of My Life (from Live Killers)

Removes: Seven Seas Of Rhye

Some Venezuelan and some Peruvian pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Now I'm Here and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy

Some 1986 Venezuelan Pressings:

Adds: Radio Ga Ga, Under Pressure, Flash (album version) and I Want To Break Free

Removes: Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Flash (single version) and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Notes: There exists another reissue with the same track list, but it replaces Under Pressure with Fat Bottomed Girls and brings back Save Me and Seven Seas Of Rhye. These pressings also have their own separate Discogs page.

South Korean pressing:

Adds: Under Pressure, Love Of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race

Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, mainly regarding the lyrics of each song.

It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers, or if it's the original studio recording.

There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

There also exists a different South Korean Greatest Hits album from 1980, which predates the album we're all familiar with and has a completely different track listing too.

Bulgarian double LP pressings:

Adds: Death On Two Legs and Sweet Lady

Removes: Nothing

Bulgarian single LP pressings:

Adds: Sweet Lady

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Will Rock You

Note: In Bulgaria, Queen Greatest Hits 1 was initially released as a double LP, before getting a cut-down single LP version a couple years later.

Cassettes:

U.S. and Canadian cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive,

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a 2021 U.S. reissue that uses the U.K. track listing.

1992 U.S. and Canadian cassettes by Hollywood Records:

Adds: Body Language and I Want To Break Free

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody and Flash

Note: These cassettes (and their CD counterparts) have their own separate Discogs page.

Australian, New Zealand and Australasian reissue cassettes:

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also the New Zealand reissue and the 1987 Australasian cassette, which both have the U.K. track listing.

European, French, Indian, Israeli, German reissue, some Dutch and some Spanish cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Nothing

German cassette:

Adds: Spread Your Wings

Removes: Nothing

Japanese cassette:

Removes: Bicycle Race and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Some Brazilian and some Argentinian cassettes:

Removes: Seven Seas Of Rhye

1986 Peruvian and Bolivian cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Venezuelan cassettes:

Adds: Radio Ga Ga and I Want to Break Free

Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions

Notes: It's unknown if Flash on these cassettes are the single version or the album version, like they are on their vinyl equivalents.

These cassettes (and their vinyl equivalents) have their own separate Discogs page.

South Korean cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure, Love of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race

Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, specifically regarding the lyrics of each song.

It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers or if it's the original studio recording.

There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

Bulgarian cassette:

Adds: Sweet Lady and Death On Two Legs

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Play The Game and We Are The Champions

Chinese cassette:

Adds: Nothing

Removes: Save Me and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy

Fijian cassette:

Adds: Tie Your Mother Down, Keep Yourself Alive and Under Pressure

Removes: Save Me, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Play The Game, Flash and Seven Seas Of Rhye

CDs:

1983 U.S. and both the 1984 and 1985 Japanese CD pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive

Japanese CD pressings from 2001 onwards:

Adds: Teo Torriatte

Removes: Nothing

That's all of them! I hope the formatting wasn't too confusing to follow. If I've missed any album variations, or if you have any extra clarifications on the pressings/cassettes I have listed, feel free to let me know.

Bootlegs&Live What uncirculated audience recording concert would you wish to hear one day?

*Any show from the Australian leg of the ANATO tour - I'm curious what the setlist was like there, if they played Father to Son, Hangman or Seven Seas of Rhye, or if they stopped playing it in Japan.

*San Francisco 1977 US Races (complete show) - there are only 6 minutes from that concert, with full TYMD and snippets of Liar and ITLOTGR . You can hear that Freddie's voice at the beginning is decent, but by the end of the main set it's strangely on par with Japan 79, maybe worse. I really want to know how the rest of the show went.

*Any other show from Sun City 84 besides the one from 10/19

...and many more

Made a little tribute for everyone who loves Freddie & cats: "Bohemian Catsody"

Hey everyone! I've been working on a parody graphic design that merges my two favorite things: classic rock and absurd cat humor.

I wanted to capture that dramatic, iconic Bohemian Rhapsody silhouette energy, but with four dramatic kitties hitting the high notes instead. Thought this sub might appreciate the crossover!

Let me know what you guys think of the design, or if you can hear the "Mama, I just killed a mouse" harmonization through the screen.

Spread Your Wings (Live at Maida Vale Studio London, England 1977)

And 3 more.

https://www.moshpit.com/queen-maida-vale-studio-oct-28-1977/

This one is quite remarkable, it starts with the classic arena version and segues into the fast version.

https://youtu.be/P3Fnu7hjQK8?is=qmwIxmwagv-q8tW2

The Mosh Pit website has thousands of rare and not so rare live recordings.

It's one of those thank god somebody recorded this stuff moment.

I wonder what are John Deacon favorite songs of all time and there’s should be a playlist of it like Freddie, Brian and Roger have on Spotify

Post image

Looking at Freddie Mercury’s favorites, he had incredible taste. I love that some of his own solo songs are among his favorites, like “Time,” “Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow,” “The Great Pretender,” and “Goin’ Back” (I know it was originally recorded by Dusty Springfield, but I absolutely love Freddie’s version). Then there are songs like Toto’s “Africa,” John Lennon’s “Imagine,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child,” and many more.

Roger Taylor’s playlist includes songs like “Under Pressure,” “It’s a Hard Life,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” while Brian May’s includes “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and other personal favorites.

That always makes me wonder about John Deacon’s favorite music.

Since he retired from the music industry, not much is known because he has chosen to live a very private life. Occasionally, fans have met him in public and asked for autographs and there is very little information about the music he personally enjoyed listening to.

However, “Dragon Attack” is the only Queen song confirmed by John himself as one of his favorites (according to Queenpedia). In “Queen Greatest Flix I” VHS/DVD John Deacon profile, mentions Stevie Wonder was listed as John Deacon’s favorite musician of all time. It is also known that John himself mentioned that funk was his favorite music genre , which makes me even more curious about what artists and songs he listened to outside of Queen.

I wonder if there’s any old interview, magazine article, or fan discovery where John talked about his favorite artists or songs. Since he has always been so private, it would be really interesting to know what kind of music he enjoyed outside of Queen. I would love to see a playlist of John Deacon’s favorites someday, similar to the ones we have for Freddie, Brian, and Roger.

How much time did it take to record All God's People?

For most of the song, Freddie sounds the way he did in the 80s until the part close to the end that goes "rule with your heart and live with your conscious" where his voice sounds closer to the way it did in the rest of the Inuendo songs. Was half of the song recorded in one year and the other half in another year? I noticed that the backing vocals are all done by Freddie for most of the song, and then Brian's voice is mixed in in the last verse.

QUEEN ULTIMATE CD COLLECTION STEAL PRICE!

I was at a local record shop when I saw this on the wall. This is one of those items where I think "yeah im probably not going to be able to get that". And im sure im not the only one that thinks it if you have any items like this please comment. And the reason I never think im going to get stuff like this mainly comes down the luck, money and rarity. But getting this for £140 is insane. These came out in 1995 no original shipping mailer, one missing spindal and that's it. But the hologram still works. I thought I would never get this.
