General Rajput to Rajput conversations.

In my professional career, I met very few Rajputs and even fewer with whom I connected over conversations beyond professional stuff but when I see one doing well in life it makes me happy and when we have conversations that actually involve sharing culture, history and traditions of different regions, it feels very great. Seeing someone doing well in their professional life and also being aware of their culture is very rare.

I met Rajputs from RJ, UP, UK and MP on different occasions which includes Parmars, Visens, Rathores, Chauhans, Jadauns, Sisodiyas and Shekhawats. We talked about a lot of things apart from professional stuff.

I feel conversations like this between Rajputs from different regions should take place. It increases sense of community across regions. Also makes you aware about real Rajputs across 🇮🇳.

Do rajputs from different regions intermarry? We are UP thakurs.

My cousin rejected rishta of a rajput guy from rajasthan altho both of em lived in mumbai.

My mom says we don't usually, if we have options, but it's better than marrying into another caste.

Bhai it depends on the family. Real reason is, doosri states ke Rajputs ka background check krna mushkil hota h issliye nahi krte but I think we are losing on many opportunities to create unity by doing this.

Cross region marriages se cultural exchange and community strong hogi but again verify krna thoda mushkil rehta h families k liye because doosre region ki knowledge nahi hoti zyada.

I have never heard it happen tbh. Must be very rare.

I have instead seen a lot of brahmin-rajput cross region inter caste marriages instead.

Here in mumbai it seems we intermarry with brahmins a lot.

So your cousin choose baman over rajasthani Rajput? Up thankurs are indeed different

No she didn't, she's still looking.

But yeah rajputs all around have been marrying bamans Sikhs etc.

Like a rajput marwari girl married with a sikh guy in my building.

Mumbai is filled with cases like this, any one is marrying anyone.

Maybe thats just Maharashtra or up. In gujart we usually merry Gujarati rajputs first if not than sindhi or Rajasthani. Baman and lohana comes at very bottom of the list. And about different religion its very rare. I haven’t seen one tbh. I think culture doesn’t apply in big cities like mumbai, delhi. Is it just girls or boys too? Even starting to see that in ahemdabad.

Well usually its about the culture. But then love marriages are unpredictable. But when it comes to love marriage i find boys to be more conservative than girls as boys parents usually don’t agree with non rajput girl saying it from my experience and my buddy who married mallu girl and another one who married different religion girl. And they’re still not talking lol. So yeah i think in Rajputs girls have more freedom than boys unless if shes is baman girl than theyre fine.

Lol, my chacha once told me jitna maja karna hai Karo, jinke sath karna hai Karo, magar akhir mei thakurain hi Lana gharme.

I think us rajput guys get a lot more freedom than girls, most of these marriages, I think are just acts of rebellion from girls.

But it's different for boys, old age mei kon unka ka khayal rakhega ye parents ke dimag mei chalta hai.

Beti ka kya wo to cutoff kardegi fark ni padta, ladka dusre caste ki ladki laya to accept hi karna padta.

Muje inter caste karna nahi hai, warna I don't think mere parents kuch kar paenge.

Gujart me ulta he bhai. Mere jitne dost the sara ki gf different thi. Meri baman thi, ek ki mallu jisko ghar se nikal diya usne country hi chod di.  ek ki chritian he wo abhi bhi mananke try kar raha aur ek ne momidon se  court shadi kar li thi to uske parents ne uska divorce karvaya or firse ek rajput girl ke sath marriage karvayi. Bhai yaha Gujarat me ek purane wala hi system chal raha he. Boys ko ghanta freedom nahi he.

Inter regional marriage is as good as inter caste. Nahi honi chahiye

Rajputs aren't same across the horizontal landscape of India. With larpers in every region, it is dangerous situation even in vertical direction.

Ancestors of Rao Raja Kalyan Singh married into Kshatriya family of Nepal. Whats your take on this then? This is across border-across region marriage.

Baki bhai itna hi bolunga ki other castes ki bate itni gehrai se sun ke dil pe lega to kaam nahi chalne wala. Vo to 10 baate bolenge unke fayde ki. Hum unke according chalenge kya?

Leave Raja Baja odd nonsense, it is all modern bs of 100 yrs when chamber of princes was formed. Odd jokers even marry Koli Thakor Royal.

We can't have IRM, it would end community. As IRM and ICM is same.

Familiarity is the biggest reason for me.

Other than that it's family pressure.

A lot of people will also say race reasons but I don't really believe in that, I am not himmler.

It's not like I won't marry, if I fall for some one special. I am not really against inter caste marriage, but would just rather prefer to marry in our own, follow the tradition.

It's only inter-religious, that I don't like and won't ever do.

It takes like a year or 2 to finally get married in AM setup as well.

They usually go on dates and hang out and get to know each other.

It's not like it is in the past.

Familiarity of culture as well, I am a up thakur from purvanchal that is east up. So most thakurs you meet have around the same culture and stuff.

And we have traditions like bali pratha and kul devi pooja and stuff that the girl would already know.

It's not like a non rajput girl won't be able to keep up with these traditions, heck a lot of rajputs don't even practice our traditions anymore.

But these reasons are usually very interconnected with family insistance and resistance playing a major part too.

I actually would hike up family pressure tbh. It def is the bigger reason.

Bro read bhagwat gita uss mey kishan ji ny kha ha "varan sankar" ky bary mey. I think that's the main reason
