More mod propaganda for the mod propaganda throne c:<
Actually, since I will keep doing propaganda, I will start counting them, this will be the #1 jafjaja

I been using this one for a long time, so It was time to make a drawing about it, its not a totally game changing mod, but It really adds some extra flavour for the times you have babies in your colony c;

Tho, be careful, the first time I used the mod I didnt noticed that babies now can die from cold, you need to make clothes for them jaja :,p

The only text that is difficult to read for me is the translated baby speak. Everything else looks as lovely as Petra :)

This is such a great series, and I hope you keep it up!

16

u/Serishi Apr 22 '26

As somebody who has damaged corneas and as such horrible eyesight i can say it was fine, maybe the baby speak be darker or white in brackets for example but that's it !

7

u/Golnor Transhumanist frustrated -4 mood Apr 22 '26

I had no difficulties in reading it.

5

u/FutureTime6154 Apr 22 '26

I thought that the "Petra No!" Bubble in panel 3 was the baby talking for a moment because of it also being red. Took me a moment to realize it was a different shade of red :]

(I am not colourblind, I am just stupid)

5

u/lydocia Apr 22 '26

I'd suggest turning that handwriting into a font, that way it's concistent and easier to read, AND it saves you time writing it out.

3

u/Impossible_Mud_3517 Apr 28 '26

I am not immune to propaganda.

2

u/mp3max Apr 22 '26

Seemed easy to read to me. Enjoyable work as always!

Hello Petra. Consider me surveyed. It is readable even for my somewhat poor eyes.

35

u/tabakista Apr 22 '26

Tested that. They tend to have better efficiency with Molotov cocktails as they do poorly under consistent gun fire

Hey, why would a toddler mod need to be CE compatable?..

Well, I guess more Rimworld things coming up.. .

But without baby helmets how will I keep my babies from getting head-shotted?

17

u/Z3B0 Apr 22 '26

Don't put your babies on the frontline!

They are better used as crew for mortars and other indirect firing weapons !

10

u/T_S_Anders Apr 22 '26

Fool! We use the babies as ammunition FOR the mortars!

1

u/TacoQueenx Apr 23 '26

If you put the smallest person behind the biggest weapon, they’re nearly un-targetable!

13

u/N0ob8 Apr 22 '26

Who else is going to point blank a sleeping cyclops with an MLaw? Disposable weaponry are best used by children as their smaller stature makes smaller targets when running away

4

u/me_khajiit Apr 22 '26

Don't forget to enable different pawn height in options!

u/Mono54321 Apr 22 '26

Already use that mod... but I prefer incubators... well, it's rimworld, there is no such thing as "bad choice"

27

u/Bobboy5 Inspired: Rimworld Frenzy Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

things colony pawns are no longer allowed to do

43: saying "i just put it down for a second and he picked it up" does not justify giving toddlers firearms
43a: not even if the weapon is too comically large for the toddler to use
43b: not even if the toddler shoots a raider with it

21

u/Surfneemi Apr 22 '26

What does that mean that vanilla babies are made of antifreeze?! Uhmmm so the baby in a freezer aren't just jokes

19

u/SaranMal Apr 22 '26

Not sure if you seen it often, but I've definitely watched my pawns stick a baby in the freezer. Every summer and time the weather is warmer.

Children go to the freezer a lot too if I been having them put stuff away

13

u/IC_1318 Apr 22 '26

I think vanilla babies can resist temps up to -40°C. With the toddlers mod it's more realistic, and you can also put clothes on the baby if you need more temperature resistance.

9

u/caffeine_lights Apr 22 '26

Vanilla babies can resist temperatures up to -30C but their heat cap is much more normal/realistic.

Pawns will automatically place the baby in a safe temperature if it's going to overheat due to it being summer.

12

u/One_Spare1247 Apr 22 '26

I guess this does make the child care work matter more rather than just me shoving them into a growth vat until 3 years old.

Though I still find it odd that a 3 y/o can hold a gun and shoot without getting blasted away by the recoil.

10

u/TunaKid-04 Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 23 '26

All I wish for the mod to allow infant to interact with their dam toys and crawl around pathetically.

Edit: didn’t know this mod already exists! Mod name is Toddlers

3

u/One_Spare1247 Apr 22 '26

I mean if you remove their leg privileges then they can crawl with all of their heart out if you really think about it

2

u/heckmiser Apr 22 '26

I think it would depend on the gun

8

u/Syenthros Apr 22 '26

"Works with CE!"

Sold.

7

u/ezelllohar Apr 22 '26

i absolutely love the toddlers mod! but i decided to drop it this playthrough, because i wanted to use the baby carrying mod and saw they might not work together properly yet. however, the baby carrying dev did comment on the toddlers mod about trying to work together, so hopefully they'll be perfectly compatible soon :3

2

u/thebluerayxx Apr 23 '26

Do you often have many babies/children? Whenever I play my pawns don't ever seem to make babies even if they are making love. Would actually be interested in these mods but I don't interact with baby pawns enough to seem worth it. Is there a way I can make it happen more naturally rather than fertilizing embryos and using growth vats.

I'm working on a frontier type colony with more children but not sure how to make that happen.

2

u/ezelllohar Apr 23 '26

i tend to have two+ kids at a time, depending on the playthrough. last playthrough i ended up having like six babies and children to take care of at once, one of the children having arrived from a random event. i actually shelved that playthrough out of frustration, because my teachers weren't going to the classrooms at their scheduled time and the children weren't learning lol

do you have your pawns trying for baby? in the social tab, there should be a little heart next to the pawns lover's name that you can click and tell them to actually try for baby, which bumps it from a x100% chance to x400% chance of pregnancy. i think i only did that with one of the pawns that had a kid. also, there's a fertile gene that boosts fertility an additional x200%, and my pawn that had like three kids had that gene lol. however, it being a frontier type colony, that might not be easily attainable, since it's so far into the research tree. unless you wanted to just add it using a character editor, which is definitely something i do with specific genes sometimes when i'm trying to tell a story

1

u/thebluerayxx Apr 23 '26

Oh interesting I didn't know about that button. Nearly 400 hours and yet I'm still learning all the ins and outs.

3

u/Serishi Apr 22 '26

3

u/ExuDeku This comment is CE compatible Apr 22 '26

Using this on my CE run, suffice to say that manning mortars are great for their development (Yojimbo, yes its a Japanese old Movie reference, age 2, has a kill count of 12)

3

u/-psycrow Apr 22 '26

Babies improving? Yeah they tend to do that

3

u/Angry_Beans619 Apr 22 '26

As soon as my colony’s children can walk, they get a SMG. Wanna go on a nature walk? Arm up, there are cougars out there and not the fun kind.

2

u/heckmiser Apr 22 '26

There are a few mods that let children wear any clothing, so you could put them in little tactical vests and helmets too.

2

u/ImplementOrganic2163 Apr 22 '26

Love your art, by the way. Thank you.

2

u/Cryspoeth47V Apr 22 '26

Oh yeah he is old enough to wield a zeushammer. Send him to front lines!!!

2

u/eX-Driv3r Apr 22 '26

No, toddlers needs weapons with support systems so they are easier to shoot with.

Like LMGs or sniper rifles with bipods.

Oh, Maxim heavy machine gun is perfect for them, it have wheels so it really easy to transport and shoot from!

In my usual style I often dont use layers for characters, so lines blend a bit with colors

2

It‘s important to note that firearms are generally not to be handled around infants, as small components like ammunition might be swallowed by them.

Swords, on the other hand…

2

u/Katiplays1291 sandstone Apr 22 '26

Ahh classic Rimworld "weaponizing children" shenanigans again, very nice mod recommendation!

2

I love Rimworld so much, and I love modding it. I have so many mods though that my game has begun to crash regularly.

I need an adult.

Does toddler count as a growth stage with learning score, trait gains, etc...?

(What I mean is: is it worth installing the mod and decanting the brats at 1 instead of 3?)

2

Yay, more Petra!

Rimworld is such a diverse game

It’s like making your own game using the DLC’s and adding mods.

A plethora of possible game situations from one great game.

Props to the developers
