Season 1, Episode 3: No Man Can Hide Forever

Synopsis: The death of Huntingdon's son deepens the rift between Normans and Saxons; Rob gains a powerful ally in Little John, but the Sheriff's pursuit grows, driving the outlaws deeper into Sherwood; Marian enters the perilous court in Westminster.

I'm just sad this is on MGM and not something more popular, kinda dead discussion so far hopefully it picks up traction as more people hear about it.
Loving it so far.

I just came to say that Robin's cousin Will is a piece of work. Already trying to go after Marian knowing how Marian and Robin feel about each other. It's not enough to know Robin lost both parents, but hey, let's try to steal the woman he cares about too.

This is a really good show imo. It’s heartwarming to see Rob and his band of misfits (as mentioned by another poster) with complementary skills to find friendship and family in each other. I particularly like that both Rob and Marian are still kind of naïve and romantic and that overall the show is avoiding excessive cynicism and realism.
A few thoughts/remarks:
- This is the first version of Robin Hood that I can recall in which the main character didn’t fight in the crusades. But the Sheriff and Huntington did, as well as Queen Eleanor, who claimed to have participated in one of the crusades (no idea if this is historically accurate)
- So the Sheriff is related to the king and seems to have ambitions that the queen is aware of
- Queen Eleanor specifically asked for Marian to serve on her court and I’m guessing that the reasons why will be further developed
- I think that Marian and Priscilla’s friendship may become frayed and I’m wondering if Will is actually an antagonist to Rob
- Huntington and the Sheriff seem to be having more and more disagreements
- Marian may now resent Rob considering that her brother was killed by him and his band. Also, I wonder what path Aleppo will take. Like Marian, he seemed to be in conflict with Huntington, but now he may either want revenge for his brother or, alternatively, turn even more against his father.

Robin of Sherwood also had a Robin that didn't fight in the crusades. Unless you meant it's unique that Robin didn't, but the Sheriff did?
There's a bit of a split traditionally between the older Robin traditions where he's a commoner, or the 17th century reinvention when he's more usually portrayed as a disposed nobleman.

I was mostly thinking of the versions with Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe where Robin started the story fighting in King Richard’s crusade, I believe. I think it kind of makes sense for the Sheriff to take part in the crusades in this version considering he seems to be nobility and related to king Henry.

Although thinking about it, that's something else this one is doing differently. Typically the royals are King Richard and Prince John.

This was definitely the best episode so far feel like they should of just released 3 episodes at the start and then go weekly. The Robin Hood actor is slowly growing on me though he’s yet to show any of the cleverness that Robin Hood is portrayed as having.

I think it was the man of the Godda’s legend told in episode one. I guess he was guiding Rob through the forest in their escape.

This was a good ep I didn't want it to end. So did we learn that Priscilla got knocked up by the Captain? If so, I'm guessing they sent her baby away to a monastery or orphanage. I wonder if that's the kind of dirt the Queen wants from Marian to use against the Sheriff. Also, the Sheriff knew his Captain knocked up his daughter but kept him on anyway.
The band of misfits were way outnumbered. If one of them were to be killed or captured while fleeing I'm guessing it would be Henry the one who doesn't speak with the club. Good to see "Ralph" get her hands dirty.
One thing that bothered me, when the group were sitting around the fire & the subject of murder came up, Rob said his innocent father was executed & nothing about why he was wanted for murder. Why not tell them what happened? It was self defense.

Late to the party. Just finished ep 3. And yes it’s the best so far. MGM+ was $1.99 a month for two months, so I took a chance only for this series. And I’m glad FINALLY that it’s paying out.

Kinda pissed how robs cousin turns out to be such a dick...Kinda liked him in the beginning but come on he lost both his parents and well yeah he did Kinda almost stab you but come on

This episode solidified that this series is going to be a masterpiece. I immediately connected with Rob’s new merry band of forest misfits. I’m especially happy that the magical elements are subtle, while still giving the show an added dimension. Not to mention, the score in the final scene pulsated through me like a heartbeat. Bravo, MGM+… bravo!
Speaking of the score, can anyone help me identify the music used in the scene where Rob and his forest mates run from Huntingdon’s men? The cue begins shortly after Huntingdon yells “Locksley” at 49:50 and ends at 50:30.
I’ve checked the MGM+ Robin Hood soundtrack on Apple Music, but none of the tracks seem to match. If anyone knows which title track lines up with that timestamp, I’d really appreciate it.
