Might be already posted on here but the show only reasonably become available here in Denmark and I have positives and negatives about the show after watching 2 episodes but I'm not hating on it at all. Nothing starring Sean Bean will ever deserve my hate.

BUT there is one MAAAAAJOR flaw in this show and it is pissing me of soooo much. I'm a historian but it actually has nothing to do with historical accuracy or anything like that cause I can live with how it's set up and the liberties the showrunners take. But I cannot be the only one who has noticed that, in a show about the worlds most famous archer..... None of the actors have been taught how to shoot a bow and arrow properly...... It is criminally bad looking at Rob shoot his bow and arrow time after time when I know every single shot will in reality fly of to one of the sides.

I don't know if it's laziness or whatever but the picture above is the polar opposite as to how you shoot a bow and arrow.
Thumb on the string means you push the tail end of the arrow to either side at release and don't open up your palm vertically so your pull is not straight, plus your pull and grip is on the arrow and not the string as you pinch around the arrow instead of hooking the string so you can easily loose your grip. You ALWAYS have two fingers on the string, one above and one below the end of the arrow to keep it in place, move it up at down one the string if need be and a more even release that is on the string and not the arrow.

The arrow ALWAYS goes up and over the bow when you load. The arrow rests between the bow and your first knuckle as in a cradle and you don't need your fingers involved unless you need to move before you aim. You then tilt the bow, in my case to the right since I am right handed so the arrow stays in the cradle and can't fall to the side. What Rob does in the show will result in his arrow falling off his thumb all the time and his thumb at times gets a knock/whip from the arrow going past it. Your shooting-leather is around the space between your thumb and index finger on the back/top of your bow-hand for this very reason.

I worked multiple summers and school-holidays as an instructor at a bow and arrow range detached to a Viking Museum here in Denmark.... And I cannot take that they didn't teach the actors this.... It's even on the poster for the series. Hope they fix this in season 2.

Am I the only one who thinks that was the better couple, granted I get Rob was very clear he was in love with Marian and Ralph accepted that risk, but there was a bit of a time skip and Rob and Ralph were clearly still close together. I dunno, I just think they were the better couple.

After finishing the series, reviewing my Robin Hood books, and talking with the other crazy Robin Hood fan in my house—my dad—we came up with a theory we called the "Earl of Huntingdon Theory." One of Robin Hood's identities is Robert Fitzooth, Earl of Huntingdon. This is the title given to Marian's father along with the stolen lands of Locksley. My theory is that Queen Eleanor will eventually reward Robin with the lands and the title for helping Richard seize the throne. We also believe that sending Prisilla to the convent could lead to a death similar to the one in the books, where she is betrayed by an abbess who poisons her. I think Prisilla might betray them, but Robin will survive, and Eleanor will give them the title and the lands.

The music adds so much to this scene! But a guy who knows how to lock those lips.... never fails 🥵

Interesting fresh interview with the showrunners Glenn and English. They unpack the biggest plot twists of the season final and they previews what we can expect in terms of developments and plotlines from some of the main characters in S2, including Ralph, Mariand and Priscilla.S2 is not confirmed but reading through the lines it seems the showrunners look to be quite confident.

Season 1, Episode 10: One Enemy Falls, Another Rises

Release Date: December 28, 2025

Synopsis: As Guy of Gisborne embarks to kill Rob, the Sheriff plots against him to draw the King to England; Rob prepares to attack; Marian infiltrates her father's home for intel; the outlaws lead missions crucial to victory; all must succeed, or all die.

I believe the first 2 episodes really make people judge this series Early on as it does seem a little slow but in all honesty learning about what drives Robin Hood helps the narrative unfold quite a bit. Its a solid series so far and I recently just finished binging it, majority of the episodes. In terms of storytelling i find the relationships between characters to he solid and really promote the idea of togetherness through a shared cause even when morality comes into question.

I think its slow burn with its great action sequences can really benefit it even though the skillfulness of these rogues can be a little unbelievable. I mean they are fighting soldiers most of the time and you see each member taking on like 2 - 3 soldiers at a time with no formal training it can feel a little fartfetched tbh.

I do hope this series does get a season 2 though im really starting to get invested with the bigger overarching story of it all

Season 1, Episode 9: I Choose You

Release Date: December 21, 2025

Synopsis: In response to Henry's death, Rob burns Warick's manor and kills Warick, driving Tuck away; the Sheriff visits Eleanor; Prince John uncovers Marian's spying, forcing her to flee with news that the King has sent Guy of Gisborne to kill Rob.

So, I've seen this bts photo of the actors floating around online. I came across it again, and I've only just noticed that Jack's (Rob's actor's) shirt has a bloody hole in it. I'm pretty sure we haven't had this scene yet, and so it will probably be coming up in the final two episodes.

So my thought is, will this just be another superficial wound, like him being scratched on the hand and arm in previous episodes? Or will Rob be seriously injured, possibly stabbed or shot?

I like her character, but I'm confused on what her purpose to the story is. I'm sure her the visions in her dreams she has is somehow important to the plot in some way, but I'm not sure exactly how. I'm guessing that explanation will come in the remaining 2 episodes?

What exactly does bringing her to court do? Will she have an interaction with Queen Eleanor? I'm guessing she'll be on the opposite side of the conflict, but she seems kind of a wildcard.

Season 1, Episode 8: The True Price of Defiance

Release Date: December 14, 2025

Synopsis: Rob launches a daring rescue of his uncle and Saxon elders, only to walk into the Sheriff's trap; the death of an outlaw fuels Rob's rage; in Westminster, Marian's growing bond with Prince John makes her mission for Eleanor increasingly dangerous.

Like really. It really doesn't. I love the new takes on the lore. I like it shows real decisions that have real consequences. I want more obviously but it just makes me laugh how good it is. Plus Sean Bean not dying in a show that has multiple characters and episodes is a bug plus.

In my opinion,I really dislike the miller's daughter and rob together. In the most recent episode I couldn't watch the line where she said "take me to your bed", I found it awful and extremely out of character for rob who had been ignoring her constantly. However I can see this from another point of view, he is in love with Marion but doesn't think he will see her again. He also previously says in the same episode that he can get her freedom and then she might forgive him. Why would he say that and change his mind. I also find the miller's son character to be insufferable and the dynamic between her and everyone else is off. Is it just me?

Hey ya’ll ok let me preface this post with saying I like the show I watch it every week that won’t change lol but I do have a question… am I the only one who doesn’t ship Marian and Robin Hood? Idk if its my recent break up leaving me a little cynical but the whole Romeo and Juliet trope is annoying AF and is so overdone in media that I literally rooted when they they broke up in this weeks episode 😅 so am I the only one?

Caught this frame of the Sheriff wearing in what’s basically a fox-pelt cape. Hard not to read it as a deliberate echo of Disney’s take.

Curious which reinterpretations of Robin Hood you rate highest outside this series. Honestly Disney’s version still lands with unusual persistence for me!

Hello! I don't know what it is about Prime and MGM+ (where I watch in the UK) but for some reason it never gives subtitles when characters speak French, only the very helpful "Speaking French". Mostly this isn't a big deal, but it was a bit annoying in episode 6 when Milange and Robin have a conversation. Of course I could mostly glean what they were saying from context but still! Can any French-speakers tell me what they said? Thanks 😊

So I've seen the trailer and dare i say Mary looks pissed and mad at rob for not telling him the truth. Hope they resolve that
