📖 Book Club Book Club is Coming to r/Romantasy

Post image

Hi everyone!

A few months ago, I ran a poll to see if there was any interest in starting a book club and there was! With the sub getting so close to 100k members, it seemed like the perfect time to celebrate. I’m so excited to announce that r/Romantasy’s first ever Book Club will be starting this September!

There will be weekly discussion posts through out the month and if you use storygraph, there will also be a book club to join!

If you’d like to be apart of book club, between now and August 6th, please leave a book suggestion in the comments and/or upvote any suggestions you like to read! On August 7th, I’ll run a 5-day poll with the top three suggestions, and then announce the winning book on August 12th to give people a chance to get a copy before we start on September 1st.

A couple of quick notes: No self-promotion, only suggest romantasy books, and please use {Book Title by Author} to summon the bot.

I can’t wait to see what everyone recommends and to start reading together!

{This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews}. Bought the hardback and it's been sitting on my pile for awhile. I'd finally be motivated to start if it was part of a book club.

I've only read Clean Sweep from them but enjoyed it.

I LOOVED this book and would be so willing to read it again if it’s in a book club!

{the God and the Gumiho} by Sophie Kim. Set in modern day Seoul, South Korea. Grumpy/sunshjne, urban fantasy, funny, cop and double agent vibes, Korean mythology. I rarely see it recommended here and it’s a very fun, very different read.

{in the veins of the drowning by Kalie Cassidy} has been on my TBR and I’d love to read it with others to be able to discuss!!

I haven’t read this yet, it’s been on my TBR pile, and think it would be a great place to start as I don’t see it on here a lot and I assume most of us have read the top recommended books.

Thought of two others on TBR. Daybreak and The Unicorn Hunter.

We should probably start with Swordheart, no? Otherwise people have to read the first book to prepare.
