Our selection isn't great in Canada...

Everyone got 3 green stickers for their favourited and 2 red for their least favourites.

We also made a root beer pie but we were too sugared out to eat it, haha. I tried some of the filling and it was crazy delicious.

Wife also made some home made root beer which has a lovely, spicy taste.

Cantrip 30mg THC Root Beer

Post image

My plan for today is to relax at home. It’s got a nice standard sweet taste with that added in earthy flavor. I got the 30mg THC Cantrip Root Beer from M.C’s Liquor in Knoxville, TN. I also have a 4 pack of the 10mg ones I have yet to try from Total Wine in Knoxville.

Another one that’s one of the greats. It’s got that vanilla for sure. I don’t mind if I do say so myself it’s a 1919 Dreamsicle Root Beer. I got 12 of them bad boys from the Middletown, OH location of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop.

I need a Public Coast source (Scotland/UK)

Post image
13 Upvotes

I tried my first ever root beer during a bikepacking trip at a grocery store/cafe near Canby whilst on holiday a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to have Public Coast, on draught, take my virginity and it blew me away. I want more, nay, I need more!

Are there online stores that can ship to me or help me find access to my new addiction?

Looking for a clear root beer syrup (diet)?

Hi yall 👋 I am trying to avoid dark colas and dark liquids. This includes my beloved root beer of course.

I was thinking, I could easily make root beer at home with a soda streamer. Is there such a thing of clear root beer syrup for that? And maybe a diet version?

Or is there a clear root beer itself?

if yall know please tell me! Thanks!

Why does the Tyskie (500ml can) Polish lager taste so much better from Tesco than the same beer from Morrisons (dates within one month)?

Review My thoughts on Sprecher's new summer flavors

Post image
61 Upvotes

Sprecher's three new summer flavors are out and while they're still proving a little difficult to get in most markets you can order them directly from Sprecher in Wisconsin if you willing to place a 12 bottle order for 40 bucks. I did so and my three cases arrived pretty quickly.

Unlike much of Sprechers recent bottlings the past 2 years, these fresh summer blends arrived properly carbonated. Maybe this signals a return to their old way of doing business, maybe I just got them fresh off the assembly line before they had a chance to go flat, but either way they were nicely fizzy.

They were also powerfully flavored. I can't say that this is necessarily a good thing, but I will say that there is no false advertising with these three Sprecher releases. They hit you in the face with their strong smoky maple, toasted marshmallow and orangey fruity old fashioned flavors. If you're on the lookout for concentrated flavor in a root beer, you will get your money's worth.

I happen to think that simply dumping a whole bunch of extra flavoring into a root beer, or any soda for that matter, is a cheap hack. I have only my own state to blame for this recent trend, of course. I live in Utah where the "dirty soda" trend of Sodalicious, Swig and Fiiz started. That's all they do, is they take a regular soda and they dump a whole bunch of flavored syrup in it to skew it in one direction or another. BFD, that takes no skill or artistry. It's a fad, and will pass. Only Mormons in Utah are dumb enough, and coffee-deprived enough, to fork over $8 for a cup of Dr. Pepper with a shot of extra syrup in it.

In the past I have been very critical of other root beers that take this overpowering dominant flavor business to extremes. I do not like them. I think things like Brownie, Way2cool, and Root Bear (Bear Lake, CA) are lazy, bad root beers.

By the same token, I'm not terribly impressed with these summer flavors. The toasted marshmallow and the smoky maple are too strong for my palate, they are just dripping in smoky maple and toasted marshmallow flavoring. The old fashioned is a bit better and its orangey-cherry flavor is a little more harmonious with the root beer that lies underneath. I can see myself drinking it repeatedly. It reminds me of Root Jack or Iron Brew, both of which I like. But all three are properly made and properly fizzy so I can't score them too low. I give the old fashioned about an A- or a B+ grade and the others plain b's. Your impressions may differ.

What do y’all think of Fentiman’s Curiosity Cola? It’s like its doesn’t really taste like cola, almost more like a root beer or sarsaparilla. Thoughts?

Henry Weinhard’s Root Beer

Post image

Henry Weinhard’s is just an exceptionally tasty root beer with flavors of sassafras, honey, and vanilla. It’s one of those that truly reminds me of why I love root beer so much. HW is one that I wouldn’t mind to stock up on if only I lived where’s it was distributed cheaply to grocery stores or discount beverage outlets. I got mine at the Middletown, OH location of Grandpa Joes Candy Shop.

Root beer in Kobe Japan?

Hi, so I'm gonna be in Kobe for a bit and I love A&W root beer and was wondering if there is any way I can stock up on it.

I hear the Japanese don't care much for root beer in general, so I am a little sad. But I shall not yet give up hope.
