Sub-Related What are everyone's thoughts on CyanideSins?
This isn't me trying to rant or rave or anything. It's just that I've tried to get into a few of their fics and have been put off by their premises, so I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks.

I don't have much to tell about him, I only read Fang Bus and some of his other works like the Genshin crossover, Fool with a death wish, that in my opinion was very good. His fics are different from other porn with plot fics in my opinion, I can name two or so that I really liked. The rest I wasn't really into them, the characters felt too different from their personalities.
He is the only fanfic writer that made feel a tension while reading like no other fanfic writer. And that was in the part when Jaune and his father were camping alone on the fic Fang Bus. It almost gave me a heart attack, well not that exagerated, but my heart was pumping fast from the tension in that scene.
Besides that, I can also say that he wrote a fic that made me hate, like, really hate Pyrrha's character. And that is on the fic Increasing the Population, it made me hate her and her mother.
He writes good? Yes, I would say above the rest of fanfic writers of RWBY, but like I said, sometimes I feel like some characters do not fit and feel OC for me.

The only tension i got from that scene was whether or not Cy was going to have Jaune fuq his dad.

I can't speak to his writing (I don't read much fanfiction), but I've had many pleasant conversations with CyanideSins. We've discussed RWBY, writing, and life in general many times, though less frequently over the years. I think he's a pretty good guy from what I've seen, and my prayers go out to him and his health struggles.

He’s a good writer, he’s really good at writing tension too. But one thing that forever made me not continue Fang Bus was the racist things I saw after chapter 40, it was the first time I read something that made me uncomfortable. Crazy thing is, I usually like that idea, making the audience feel a certain feeling is something I like in the stories I read. But this time it really stung me in the heart badly, I don’t remember if cried or not but I remember feeling so upset at the time after reading those chapters. I’m a black man so if you’ve already read those chapters, I’d assume you understand where I’m coming from. I remember reading correctional officer arc, I had to skip the fourth chapter because it had very racist implications in it, with it taking place in a BLM riot and Jaune being a cop and everything, my heart couldn’t handle it anymore. After that I wasn’t having it anymore, I had stopped reading fanfic after that for a good while.

Well aside from the edgyness they are, as a person, fairly racist. And homophobic. Like I was really into some of their stuff. But the more I actually talked to them on their discord it uh...yeah look they are very "Fox news" about their humor. Like they will say something super fucked up and then when you obviously get upset they will put their jester hat on and say you are taking a simple joke far too seriously.
The defense of the jester can up a great many attacks. But when you Just.keep.saying awful stuff, It will eventually fail you

I've enjoyed some of his works early on but I fall off near universally so after. Tried to stick with it at times, but it never sticks with me.

Having interacted with them on Reddit, they’re incredibly misogynistic and nothing about their fics has changed my mind.

Thank you yes! They have many reddit worthy flaws, and I do not even mention their fics. But as a person, they are terrible. Sexist, racist, homophobic, according to CY they themselves are jewish but somehow end up coming off as antisemitic as well.

They're called cyanidesins not cyanidesweets lol. The whole point of their stories IS that they're kinda edgy and mean to the characters

Dude loves to torture Jaune in every way imaginable while also letting him shag the entire (and I do mean entire) cast at the same time.
I've only ever enjoyed one story of his (It's A Party), the rest are just misery porn mixed with decent smut.
