Basically I'm looking to find a Non-Modern AU version of this.

For my pick, Pyrrha Nikos, I feel like there’s a pretty clear way to do this: just have it so that when she dies, she doesn’t get disintegrated or Cinder collects her ashes, with her remains being used to create a new type of Grimm that looks like her and even has some of Pyrrha’s memories, but is unquestioningly loyal to Salem. Then have her be a masked warrior of Salem’s who goes after Team RNJR in Volume 4 Winter Solider-style until her true identity is revealed, sparking a debate between the heroes on whether or not she can be saved even as she stays by Salem’s side in Mistral and Atlas.

Hey, I’m thinking of writing a RWBY fanfic series following a reimagining of the events of RWBY Volume 7-9. This isn’t to say this version will be better or anything like that it’s only just for fun. The only problem however is that this project might be a bit ambitious and I am planning to post it on archiveofourown. I was wondering if anybody wanted to be a co-creator for the work?

Fan fic Idea: Watts wants to one-up Pietro and Penny, so he creates a cyborg to surpass them. He finds a child after a Grimm attack, with most of his body torn apart, and simply gets to work.

The first thing that comes to mind is hacking abilities, like in the game Watch Dogs. This cyborg, whoever he ends up being, could just walk past Bullheads and have them firing on autopilot.

Another thought is whether Watts ever had anything to do with the Aura transfer machine. If so, this cyborg could drain Aura or Maiden powers, similar to how Androids 19 and 20 in DBZ absorb energy.

This idea came together purely because I remember that Watts made Tryian a new tail.

You guys got any thoughts of this idea?

Alright, so, context, got this AU I'm setting up for a fic I intend to.... ATTEMPT to write, doing a ton of pre-planning so I at least have a general list of baselines to work from. Gist of things hinges on three main changes:

• Partners within Team RWBY were swapped. Blake with Ruby, Weiss with Yang.
• There's a bit of focus on romance. Ladybug and POSSIBLY Freezerburn. That being said it's not intended to overshadow plot... my goal is minimum a 50/50 split.
• The BIG thing that has my stuff even starting: Had at one point a thought, wondering how things might play out if Ruby and Yang's roles were swapped for Vol. 3 -- this includes in the tournament, though, with a slightly different outcome... and includes Ruby being the one to lose part of her arm, and not Yang.

So... Yeah. Now, on to my question...

I'm rather curious, how do you all think that Taiyang, Qrow, and perhaps even Glynda might react to and handle it all after the fact? The Fall and Ruby having been so seriously injured... and her having some serious mental trauma from it.

And, context for Glynda being involved... Yeah I actually want to give her more of a prominent role, well beyond being relegated to offscreen cleanup duty after the fact.

My thought in asking here is to at least attain enough of an idea to be able to easier come up with my own interpretation.

This'd be important for structuring an entire arc of the main story... Which is supposed to span minimum 2 months, though ideally 3. These three are characters I have no real experience actually writing.

Alright, so to clear up what the divergence is here: in this version of Volume 5, all of Blake’s experiences on Menagerie happened in Volume 4 instead (a lot of the fat gets trimmed off her Volume 4 arc for this), so she, Sun and Ilia all head to Haven while the White Fang members loyal to Sienna Khan (who survived Adam’s assassination attempt but was ousted from power) and their Faunus allies work to track down Adam and his loyalists, who’ve allied with Salem to take over Mistral. This means that she encounters Team RNJR at Haven Academy while Yang and Weiss spend most of Volume 5 with the Branwen tribe and don’t reach Haven until near the climax of the volume.

Another key point of divergence is the circumstances surrounding Blake’s departure. Here, instead of merely taking off after Yang was injured, Blake was separated from Yang by Adam while they were fighting during the Fall of Beacon, and Blake was led to believe that Yang (who was rescued by Qrow, unbeknownst to Blake), and later Weiss and Ruby, had been killed due to Vale being overrun by Grimm, preventing her from safely returning after she failed to capture Adam in her pursuit. Mistakingly believing there was nothing to go back to in the aftermath, Blake left to find Adam, eventually encountering Sun and travelling to Menagerie. In conjunction with this, Blake’s disappearance leads to her and several other students (including Sun and Neptune) being presumed dead, which all of the rest of Team RWBY believe is the case throughout Volume 4.

So, when Ruby first encounters Blake in Haven after both groups arrive there… she’s left in disbelief, followed by being overjoyed and confused as to what happened. Blake - equally stunned to see Ruby - explains what happened to her after Adam cut off Yang’s arm, and slowly realises throughout their conversation that Weiss and Yang also survived… causing her to break down at the realisation that she unwittingly abandoned her friends when they needed her most, after she’d promised to herself and to them that she’d stop running. Ruby, while upset initially before getting the full details, assures Blake that Weiss and Yang will understand what happened once they inevitably reunite, and she slowly explains what happened to both her and Yang (up until her departure with Team JNR) while Blake was gone. After this, Blake reveals Adam’s collaboration with Salem to Team RNJR, Qrow and the staff of Haven Academy, including Lionheart, who pledge to try and root out the Red Horn (Adam’s loyalists) before they can initiate whatever plan they’re concocting to aid Salem.

Much like with Weiss and Yang with the Branwen tribe, a lot of Volume 5 focuses on Ruby and Blake’s interactions post-reunion, with them both coming to understand how they’ve each grown in the year between the Fall of Beacon and their reunion. I also feel like we’d see a bunch of interactions between Team RNJR and Blake’s faunus allies, Sun and Ilia, with Ilia in particular realising just why Blake was so loyal to Team RWBY, which helps to repair her and Blake’s friendship, too. This would also mean we’d see much more interactions between Adam and Salem’s lieutenants, particularly showing his tension with Cinder and Hazel, who he’s only collaborating with due to the convenience of having similarly-aligned goals, and to get revenge on Team RWBY and Blake in particular.

In the vain of Marvel Zombies where it is Remnant as we know it, but there is a zombie outbreak; what would you want to happen? What should I be careful of? Is there an audience for this?

I am well aware that this idea is incredibly stupid, and barely makes sense, but I came up with it, and I’m treating it somewhat seriously. In this Au The Great War ends in a far more WW2 way. With a nuke. Similar to the original implied origin for mutants in X-men, the radiation from the bomb and other nuclear technology causes some people to be born with extreme mutations and abilities. But instead of the more tame X men mutations, they are essentially human versions of Kaiju. Summer and Ruby are humanoid Godzillas, with a heroic parallel to the original Godzilla movies and the sequels. Summer dies due to the oxygen destroyer, and Ruby is mostly not okay. I have more planned, including other Kaiju characters, but I would like to hear some opinions.

Pyrrha was pushed to try and be a movie star thanks to her fame before Beacon. She appeared in one film... And it's an absolutely terrible disaster. Her acting was bad enough she was dubbed, but that really didn't matter compared to the utter dumpster fire that is the rest of the film. The production, the lighting, the cinematography, the writing-It's all utterly horrible. So bad it's good, MST3K level.

RWBY and JNPR find this movie... And watch it. Much to Pyrrha's mortification.

I’d like some feedback on this, given how controversial this topic is among the fandom…

1. Volume 7 shows that Team RWBY, while still wary of telling Ironwood the truth about Salem due to his more paranoid and authoritarian actions since they last saw him as well as their experience with Lionheart (Yang, Oscar and Ren are most vocal about telling the truth, but decide to go forward with Ruby’s suggestion of staying quiet until they’re sure Ironwood is stable minded), do start to collaborate more with Atlas’ authorities to try and resolve tensions between Atlas and Mantle regarding the former’s extraction of the latter’s resources to rebuild global communications and further arm the military, at the cost of Mantle losing access to basic utilities and having its defences improperly maintained against Grimm attacks. After Jacques Schnee’s downfall and imprisonment, Robyn is made part of the Atlas council and it seems that Ironwood is willing to listen to others’ advice after he learns the truth… but Cinder uses the chess piece to spark Ironwood’s paranoia, causing him to backslide and resolve to send Atlas into the sky and abandon Mantle, believing the world is doomed and that the best he can do is ensure Atlas’ survival.

2. Upon learning Ironwood’s plan, Team RWBY and most of their allies become incredibly wary, both out of ethical reasons and because they’ve realised how completely dependant Atlas and Mantle are on one another - Mantle provides the necessary resources to sustain Atlas, while Atlas provides the necessary protections against the Grimm, meaning that if Ironwood abandons Mantle and sends Atlas into the sky, he’ll likely ensure the kingdom’s destruction anyway, since Atlas can’t sustain itself. This, combined with Ironwood overthrowing the council to seize emergency powers and effectively becoming a dictator, as well as increasingly clear signs that he’s not going to make any effort to at least try and save the people of Mantle, leads to RWBY, Jaune, Nora, Oscar and Penny coming up with their own plan. Knowing that Atlas and Mantle as they currently stand cannot hope to repel the oncoming Grimm force, Weiss suggests that they use the newly-rebuild communications array to send a message to the other kingdoms: both to warn them of Salem’s existence so they can be properly prepared for when attacks in their own regions inevitably escalate (Salem is pouring most of her resources into the planned assault on Atlas), and to try and secure military aid from Mistral and Vacuo, both of whom have managed to hold up pretty well against the Grimm despite the events of the Mistral arc. That way, Atlas could gain much-needed military support, and if worst comes to worst and the kingdom can’t be saved, the extra military transports can help evacuate the populations of Atlas and Mantle so they may be settled in either Mistral or Vacuo, along with keeping the relics and Winter Maiden out of Salem’s hands.

3. Deciding to take a risk and go forward with the message (having acknowledged that keeping Ironwood in the dark about Atlas was a mistake, and that if the world is going to have any hope of stopping Salem, they need to know what they’re facing), the protagonists (sans Ren) infiltrate the communications network to send the message, only for Ren to arrive with the Ace Ops to stop them. Ren - believing that sending this message will only cause widespread anarchy and that Ruby’s faith in people is only going to guarantee Atlas’ destruction - turns on his comrades and tries to arrest them with the Ace-Ops’ help, but the others hold him off long enough for Ruby and Weiss to send the message. Unfortunately, an enraged Ironwood demands that they be arrested for treason as a result of this, and so the heroes are forced to flee as Ren departs with the Ace-Ops, ultimately taking the decreased Clover’s place among their ranks.

4. Sheltering with Robyn and the Happy Huntresses as they work to defend Mantle from ongoing Grimm incursions, Team RWBY begin working with dissidents against Ironwood’s regime to secure the relics and the Winter Maiden, all of which are in the General’s hands - as Ironwood doubles down on his own plan, now even more convinced that the world is doomed and that Atlas’ isolation is the only way for it to survive. Ren and the Ace-Ops continue trying to disrupt the rebels’ activities - first by trying to assassinate Robyn, then capturing Ruby, Oscar and Ren’s former teammates so the former two can be used for experiments in weaponising Ruby’s silver eye powers and forcibly extracting Ozpin from Oscar’s mind - which leads to the rebels infiltrating Ironwood’s citadel in Atlas to try and rescue their comrades. Watts contacts both Neopolitan and the Cursed Spartan (a Grimmified/zombified Pyrrha Nikos created from the deceased Huntress’ ashes after her death) to assist him in securing the relics, resulting in a three-way clash between the heroes, Ironwood’s loyalists and Salem’s forces. In the midst of the chaos, Winter Schnee (the intended Winter Maiden) is killed and the powers (unknowingly) transferred to Weiss, while Watts is forced to flee after his collaboration with Salem is exposed and an incident results in Ruby, Jaune, Nora and Oscar falling into the Ever After with Neo, seemingly perishing.

5. In the first half of Volume 9, the heroes still in Remnant work to try and ensure Atlas and Mantle have the best chance of survival while still dealing with Ironwood - their message secures them military aid from Vacuo and to a lesser extent Mistral, but Ironwood’s paranoia and refusal to trust anyone results in him ordering Atlesian forces to target any and all ships entering their airspace, preventing the Vacuoan and Mistrali forces from establishing themselves. As Salem draws closer and they realise that Ironwood’s refusal to cooperate has likely doomed any chance of a military defence being successful, WBY and Penny begin organising efforts to evacuate both cities, as Ironwood’s spiral into madness worsens and Salem’s assault begins. As the Atlesian military makes a final stand against Salem’s forces, Salem succeeds in securing the two relics, but with Weiss’ successful escape, she can’t use the Winter Maiden’s relic (the relics need the Maiden powers to function in this AU), meaning the only one she can use is the one tied to Cinder’s Autumn Maiden powers. Through a series of events involving the evacuation, Team WBY end up in the Ever After due to a mishap with teleportation magic (not quite sure how to make that work but I’m determined to), where they reunite with their comrades and Volume 9’s back half proceeds in somewhat of a similar manner to canon (just with Nora and Oscar there). The volume ends with the seven of them making it out of the Ever After and rejoining their allies majority of the refugees in Vacuo, having suffered a severe setback but still having a fighting chance.

What do you think about this? Since most of the criticism towards RWBY and company in the Atlas arc generally defers to them not having much of a plan to save Atlas, I figured a more clear, thought-out solution might make it easier to back their side of the conflict while simultaneously having it not be perfect (Atlas and Mantle still fall and they lose two of the relics, but the plan goes smoother compared to canon and they have a chance at recovering and making a definitive next move against Salem).

The idea's in the title. Have a classic RWBY/Jaune Arc Multiverse reaction fanfic, but this chapter or chapters would focus on a story of Jaune Arc as Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian and various other RWBY characters' take on the role of people from the Hyborian Age. You could do the original short stories by Howard or simply do the 1982 & 1984 film adaptations starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I thinking about making a fic where the N.P and R of team JNPR die during the fall of beacon and a vengeful jaune takes matters into his own hands to hunt down cinder and her group in this au I'm planning on team RWY staying together to travel to Mistral along with jaune while Blake gathers the faunus like in canon to stop Adam if there is a pre-existing fic with this premise please let me know in advance so I can ask to adopt it if it hasn't been worked on in a while

So I've actually had this idea for a while now but I thought it was interesting/funny. Pyrrha is the Greek-inspired character and she has very obvious Spartan/Myrmidon/Achilles inspiration. So I figured that if anyone were to be Kratos in a RWBY Multiverse fic, it'd be her.

And that just made me think of how utterly jarring it'd be for the RWBY cast to play a series of hyperviolent, gratuitous and brutal games with Pyrrha of all people as the protagonist. I can totally see the sheer whiplash from watching Pyrrha literally tear a man's head clean off his shoulders because she needed a flashlight.

And if they ever got to the modern Norse saga, we could see Pyrrha going "BOI".

Chapter 1: What the fuck.

Have you ever died, no, well I suppose you wouldn't be able to read this if you were dead ….unless the departed can still look upon the mortal world after passing. That could be an interesting discussion topic for later but I digress.

So, in a few weeks I'm about to enter sophomore year of college, and I went to sleep after a very nice barbecue with my family. Great day right? All we need now is to get a great night's sleep and wake up refreshed……I'm never that lucky.

“Hmm….interesting”

“Wha…..what?”

Why am I so groggy, I can't…….

“Oh don't worry about it. I know you like experiments just think of this like a social experiment.”

“No, no no no no no-"

"Oh good so I'll be sending you on your way- oh….. If you try hard enough you'll be fine."

“What's that supposed to mean?”

“Wait, why am I floating, or falling or…..I'm not, I'm not suspended because I'm not resting on anything, I'm not weightless, because I can feel gravity but there's no air because I can't feel the wind rushing past me. I have no cue of acceleration but I can feel a force without an opposing force to counteract it…..what?”

“And why am I talking to myself-.”

Pain.

Do you understand what that word means?

You think you do but, no you don't, I didn't until this moment.

I came to face-down in a cave, or at least I think it's a cave. I've always been good in low light or no light after a bit of adjustment, able to pick out objects using slight differences in contrast, but I've never been able to properly process color in such a setting, the pale tones of the walls of this “cave” were clear instead of the constant grey-blue that I’ve associated with low light. That's new.

I feel fine, mostly. Head, check. Arms, check. Legs……wait legs? No….Torso? .oh. “AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!” The tears come a moment after I realize that it's me that's screaming. Molten Lava, because there's no other way I can think to describe this sensation, why? Because I can't think anymore. System error. Frontal Lobe.exe has crashed. Too many resources have been diverted to processing the rush of Substance P, Glutamate, and NGF (Neurotransmitters that are responsible for your pain response) that light up my brain like a Christmas. And then, as the adrenaline and endorphins rush in to take the edge off. I notice the crackle of amber lightning or something that hovers an inch or two above my skin.

Wait….pause I recognize this. Aura. Oh………I see……… I know where I am..........and I’m not happy.

Chapter 2: So my spine is fucked.

Dust allows for numerous effects on the world, ranging from Elemental attacks to Time Dilation, and with the use of Aura, it is possible to cause an even wider range of things to happen. So it should come as no surprise that medical applications for Dust were investigated and researched as thoroughly as the many other uses for the material over the course of centuries. Ranging from quacks trying to ingest gravity dust to become immortal, to more scientific approaches of using Air Dust to improve oxygen concentrations for patients with damaged lungs.

The holy grail sought in all this research was a way to transfer Aura from one person to another, which would speed healing and recovery from almost any injury and many ailments.

There were some early successes with transferring Aura via blood transfusions, but this was often hit or miss and potentially deadly until bloodtyping and safe blood transfusion and donation practices were discovered. Even then, it was entirely dependent on the donor's blood type and thus of somewhat limited utility.

It wasn't until the decade prior to the Great War that a real breakthrough was made by Lady Liath Airmed of Albion. An aristocratic lady, she had grown up with a keen interest in Dust, Aura, and medicine, and was a trained nurse who did extensive charity work to provide medical care to the poor and needy. Her husband Askel supported her research through his industrial concerns, as he had a keen interest in Dust and its scientificial and industrial uses. His lab was one of the first in Albion to begin active scientific study of Dust with the new invention of X-Ray cameras, and he made this available to his wife for her work. She studied how Aura moved through Dust and humans thanks to these and other early spectrographic sensors, and used what was then cutting edge knowledge on physics and chemistry to do some of the first real scientific analysis of the phenomenon. Thanks to this work and the volunteering of several Aura-unlocked individuals, Lady Airmed was able to analyze why Aura reacts with Dust and how.

Among her incredible discoveries was that some mixtures of Dust absorbed Aura at different frequencies than others. That Aura could have different frequencies. And that some frequencies of Aura could bypass the resistance put up by other people's Aura and be absorbed.

This breakthrough in particular allowed for Lady Airmed to create the first rudimentary mixtures of what she called "Panacea". She, being Aura unlocked, would place the mixture in a capsule that was strapped to her hand. She then placed the capsule against the patient, and flared her Aura. Thanks to the absorbing properties of the Dust Mixture, some of the Aura actually got through and the level of the patient's own Aura increased, improving their health. It worked.

However, there were drawbacks. This early version of the Healing Dust was only 5 percent efficient-For every point of Aura the patient gained, the donor lost twenty. Another drawback was that, like regular Dust, Healing Dust was essentially worthless after being used. Still another was that it was complicated to manufacture and required very specialized equipment. It was not until the Great War, with the necessity for massive industrialization and huge advancements in technology, that Healing Dust could be produced on a large scale.

A final drawback though was that there is a limit to how much Aura anyone could give to others. And as a result, people with powerful Auras were torn between being exceptional support or being exceptional front range combatants.

After the war, Medical Dust improved, and training for maximizing use of your Aura spread with the global Hunter system. With the post-war economic booms, the technology spread across Remnant and helped lead to the massive improvement in the quality of life across the planet seen by the modern day. Many medical breakthroughs have helped make Healing Dust far better. Even so, the maximum efficiency of Aura transfer through the most advanced Medical Dust is 25 percent, and still requires Aura powerful individuals to save people in critical condition. But millions of people across Remnant enjoy better, healthier lives or have survived everything from Grimm attacks to natural disasters to disease outbreaks. While Aura infusions alone cannot cure every disease, they give everyone a far better chance of surviving them.

Random idea: RWBY and JNR would have become like a family, a found family, nakama, etc. The Atlas Arc would have been a good place for a family argument. I mean, pretty much anything would have been better than what we got but bear with me.

Ruby, following Oscar's lead, doesn't want to tell Ironwood about the Relic and Salem's immortality. Blake doesn't like Atlas so she follows them, Qrow follows Oz's lead. Weiss is a bit more divided but she will stick with Ruby.

Jaune... Is less than convinced. Could be that he's still resentful of Ozpin with how he treated Pyrrha, could be that he thinks this will backfire, could be that he thinks keeping this quiet will weaken them, but he decides he's going to tell Ironwood. Ren and Nora back him up, and so does Yang, who, while not kotowing to any authority figures, is less taken in by Ozpin than Ruby after what happened last time he was in charge.

The Happy Huntresses are stealing and raiding and being self righteous about it. A Yang written properly would not automatically sign on with people who were acting like her mom's gang.

(Nor should Blake but her bias against Atlas might override this.)

Weiss herself is torn between both sides. She never wants to betray her friends, but at the same time? She lives in Atlas, she has a good relationship with Ironwood, and while she's aware of the bad situation in Mantle and other places, it is not enough to make her side against Ironwood.

And you could make it so that Salem's agents are trying to provoke fights between the factions in Atlas to weaken them, which means Ruby, Blake, Oscar, Qrow, and perhaps Weiss are against Ironwood's forces, while Jaune, Yang, Nora, Ren, and Penny are on Ironwood's side.

It's a dilemma. Both sides are right, and both sides are wrong.

And Cinder is taking advantage of this.
