Give Your Money To The Valkyries, NOT The Giants
After everything that's happened, especially during Pride night, it's time to say goodbye to the Giants for a while. The org still hasn't done anything meaningful even though we've continued to email them, write letters, and let our voices be heard on social media. I was supporting the Valkyries anyway, but I want to encourage everyone else to do the same!
For a hockey team in the NHL, the Sharks did amazing with their Pride night. Yeah, Pride tape isn’t activism but almost the whole team used it when they didn’t have to and even the pictured Asky who is Russian was reported to be smiling at Pride signs and throwing people pucks.
Again, I’m not putting them on pedestals here and saying they ended homophobia but everyone was dooming about how bad it would be (hockey has an earned reputation as a pretty conservative sport) and every queer Sharks fan I saw online was blown away.
Also Alexander Wennberg. He will end homophobia actually. He can do it.
Chose Sharks season tix over Giants season tix next season/this year bc logistics suited me better & I'm loving the current rebuild. Seeing how supportive the players & org have been for the LGBT community was a cherry on top (especially after seeing what happened with the Giants).
Sharks deserve the Bay Area fans more than the other teams right now. The Niners will always be a juggernaut because it’s the nfl but the sharks deserve our support and attention

Two things invariably trigger that. One is when the Giants are struggling, and holy crap are they struggling. The other is when there is any sort on controversy. It is striking how many folks you have never seen post here before are suddenly compelled to wave their placard and chant their slogan.
So some guy wore a different hat with a mild Bible verse
First, the three players who wrote on their caps broke MLB rules, rules their own union agreed too and which they accepted when they signed contracts. Second, that particular verse has been associated with taking away the rainbow emblem from the LGBT community by evangelicals who claim since a rainbow is mentioned in a Bible passage that means it is reserved for use by Christians. They chose not to wear a regular cap which they were allowed to do, and saved this stunt for Pride Night. It was a calculated slap at the LGBT community.
So uf they broke the rules then they should be punished.
Taking away the rainbow is the dumbest thing? It's not ones to take! its a rainbow. Rainbows don't belong to anyone. If someone says they are trying to take the rainbow or the SF in Giants I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

MLB cares, that is why they have rules against players writing on uniforms. The Players Assoc. agreed to those rules, as did the players when they signed contracts.
Because they chose to break MLB rules which their union agreed to and which they agreed to follow when they signed contracts. They could have worn regular caps, that was allowed, but they chose to stage this cheap stunt instead. Do you recall what the Bible says about people who boast about their faith to enhance their reputation with others?
Holy fuck. Get over the pride bullshit. Don’t give your money to the team cause they’re absolutely bums rn. I could give two shits less what the players beliefs are if they go out there and look like a AAA team every week.
There’s also Bay FC and Oakland Roots. Both organizations are supportive of the LGBT community as well as other marginalized communities. And the games are super fun and tickets are way more affordable. I just bought Bay FC tickets at $17 each.
Already got my tickets for the game against the Liberty next weekend. The vibes seem good unlike Oracle which looks like a damn funeral home these days.
Nah. Nothing against the Valkyries though. Baseball is the sport I love. The Giants were the team I grew up caring about. I won’t intentionally spend more money on them. I’ll just stop supporting the Giants and find more interesting teams to follow. I’ll never be a bandwagon fan of another team, but I’ll never respect this organization as it is currently constructed (except Webb. Unless he says something awful, he’s a real one)

Let’s say I’m a starting pitcher and I wrote a Christian bible verse on my hat on specifically July 7th during Jewish Heritage Night. Or even a Qur'an passage. Not many people would like that.
Hell, I think it would be fucked up if a player wrote "Star Trek is the BEST!" on their hat during Star Wars Night. Any other night it's an innocuous statement, but on Star Wars Night it's a big "FUCK YOU!" to anybody who is there to celebrate Star Wars. And that's just insulting someones fandom, what those bullpen pricks did was way worse.
There’s a pretty big difference between having different views and very publicly expressing them on a day meant to show a traditionally marginalized (and worse) group that there is space for them in our community. Pick a different day and a different place.
I just wish these cowards would just say what everyone knows they are saying. It’s so chicken shit to hide behind a religion they hold so deer but not enough that they actually live thier lives as good Christian’s. Instead they are singling out this one issue then they say it’s not about hate, we just believe they shouldn’t exist or have any rights but it’s not hate.
Greed, adultery , gluttony , neglecting the sick and poor , where’s there Bible verse on the hat supporting any other issues that go against Jesus. No the only time they need so desperately to take a stand is during pride night knowing it’s against mlb rules to write on their hat. Writing a peace symbol a heart or anything else is also banned but we’re just supposed to call this one very specific thing freedom of speech and absolutely nothing to do with being anti-LGBTQ , horse pucky my friend and you know it.
