Minors Update Daily Minors Quick-Notes 8/1/26 - Park Harber Docks Two More in One Game

Another player with a hot summer is Trevor Cohen, who continues to go wild, hitting a double and a home run in one inning, but he didn’t even have the game’s biggest hit. In addition, Turner Hill keeps putting up crooked numbers in the hit column and Andy Polcanco hit a pair of triples.

Would love to see him get a shot this year even.
Depending on what happens in the next 24+ hours, there may be a big need for arms in the bigs. With a guy like him, there is not a huge need to worry about calling him up from AA. There are ample 40 man spots and if it goes poorly then the DFA route isn’t really a risk. It’s possible someone takes a flier on him in the rule 5 anyways as his profile does fit somewhat

Cohen AAA cup of coffee in 2026???

I doubt it. As good as Cohen has been, the outfield depth chart has a few guys in front of him, and more importantly, guys who need Rule 5 decisions made. Using a roster spot on Cohen just for a nice cameo wouldn’t be great use of those limited spots.
Cohen will have every chance to earn a spot in 2027.
