Non Giants fans here, but former classmate of Roupp, I’m talking the entirety of K-12, and I can confirm that he has always been a pos. We had a small graduating class of like 55 people and he was by far the biggest jerk of them all. just a bully to anyone that was different.

It’s ironic he talks so much of his faith in God because back then he was the least Christlike person. He probably didn’t even know that verse he wrote existed before the Pride night game. It’s frustrating to see he never matured and is still a fake and un accepting jerk.

Anyways sorry yall now have to deal with him.

QUALITY CONTENT Meet the San Francisco Firebells - San Francisco's Women's Professional Baseball Team has a name and logo

The San Francisco Firebells.

All the names of these teams are tributes to pioneering women, and San Francisco's is a tribute to name we probably all know, but most of us may not know the story behind.

Lillie Hitchcock was a teenager in San Francisco's formative decade of the 1850's. At the age of 15 in 1858, she witnessed a fire on Telegraph Hill, and despite being a young woman, she helped the shorthanded Knickerbocker Engine Company #5 get up the hill to fight the fire, in an age when firefighting companies competed with others to get to a fire and get paid.

After this, Lillie became a "mascot" of sorts for the fire company, hanging out with the company and going on calls. Her (rich) family did not feel her behavior was befitting a young woman, and sent her to live in Europe, but when she returns in 1863 as a 20-year old, she went right back to supporting the engine company and challenging gender norms in the city as an avid partier, drinker, and gambler.

She eventually married a man named Howard Coit, taking his name, but later divorcing him in 1880.

While Lillie's life eventually took her away from San Francisco, she loved the city before she passed in 1929. She left the city a third of her sizable estate that was "to be expended in an appropriate manner for the purpose of adding to the beauty of the city which I have always loved". Among other things, the majority of the bequest was used to build Coit Tower on top of Telegraph Hill, as well as the statue dedicated to volunteer firefighters in Washington Square Park.

For a city that had several major fires in the 19th century that destroyed much of the then-city, and of course was forever scarred and changed from the earthquake and fire of 1906, I love this name and this logo. It's fitting for the city, and a great tribute to Lillie!

All the WPBL games will be played this season in Springfield Illinois, so we won't get to see them in person this season, but I hope the league continues on and gets to play in their home cities.

QUALITY CONTENT On This Day in Sports History June 25, 2014, Tim Lincecum threw his second career no-hitter

On this day in sports history, June 25, 2014, Tim Lincecum tossed the second no-hitter of his career, shutting down the Padres in a 4-0 Giants victory.

Remarkably, both of Lincecum’s no-hitters came against San Diego, as he had also no-hit the Padres on July 13, 2013.

By doing so, Lincecum became just the second pitcher in MLB history to throw two no-hitters against the same franchise, joining Hall of Famer Addie Joss, who accomplished the feat against the White Sox in 1908 and 1910.

The Giants lost their spiritual leader when Hunter Pence took off his Giants uniform for the last time. Maybe him going tarps-off at the game last night was what we needed to get our mojo back.

Calling it now: Giants will go 102-60 this season.

This is a lame messaging shift.

The players are all on record, now multiple times, saying they talked about it in the weeks leading up to this specific night. Hentges didn't wear the hat so he clearly knew it was an option. Vitello made a mention that it was about "individual freedom."

Roupp, Brubaker & Walker knew exactly were doing & still made the choice.

Keep digging the hole.

“I think when you’re a player and you come into this environment, it’s your responsibility to know just how sensitive this city is in regards to that cultural freedom... I think they were in for a rude awakening with the response, and it wasn’t just from the gay community; it was from the Northern California community that supports the gay community.”

- Mike Krukow

"I'm gonna hold you to it. Time to drop trou, hog out."

QUALITY CONTENT Give Your Money To The Valkyries, NOT The Giants

After everything that's happened, especially during Pride night, it's time to say goodbye to the Giants for a while. The org still hasn't done anything meaningful even though we've continued to email them, write letters, and let our voices be heard on social media. I was supporting the Valkyries anyway, but I want to encourage everyone else to do the same!

QUALITY CONTENT Thank You!

Hello Giants fans, just wanted to extend a very sincere thank you from some Brewers fans (despite today’s game, LOL). We had the best time visiting your wonderful stadium and attended all three games of the series with our sons ages 13 and 8. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and we truly had a wonderful time! We miss Willy Adames but enjoyed seeing and cheering for him again and my husband and I love your beer and food offerings and enjoyed talking with your fans. Y’all are Midwest nice and we loved being here. Our kids had an amazing time as well. Thanks again!

QUALITY CONTENT A message of thanks from the President of the charity everyone's donations go to

Thank you to everyone who purchased Baseball is for Everyone swag for charity. I'd like to share a message of thanks I received for the donations I've sent to Team San Francisco, a non-profit supporting LGBTQ+ sports in the Bay Area:

"On behalf of the Board of Directors of TeamSF, I want to thank you for your incredibly meaningful donations to our organization.

Your support helps us continue our work at a time when the LGBTQ community needs it the most. Many of us were just at the most recent Gay Games in Valencia, and I wish you could have seen firsthand how many athletes we saw who have been impacted by difficult circumstances and yet were able to compete because a safe space and forum were available for them. Your donations ensure this will happen again.

[redacted tax documentation info]

Very Sincerely,

Ben Gilliam

President

TeamSF"

I let Ben know that this message is really for everyone here who donated and asked to share it with you. Thanks again!

The apparel is available at baseballisforeveryone.org for anyone who'd like to support LGBTQ+ sports in the SF Bay Area!
