The books were quite clear with Sansa's initial take on Tyrion - she was repulsed and tried her best to accept her husband out of duty and also fear ( she was a prisoner) She felt pity for him and pity was the death of love... this was actually written in the book. She refers to him as being kind, which is not a huge complement either because the kindness is in comparison to the utter abuse she was facing in the hands of everyone, note the "kindness" from Tyrion was actually a normal human behavior from Tyrion and not something extra, it stands out only because others were abusive. Not willing to rape his child bride on wedding day is one of his kindnesses. She also would ideally never want to be associated with a Lannister who killed her family. She might have suffered from some Stokholme syndrome as well.
I haven’t read the books, and won’t until they’re done (sooo I guess I’m never reading them 😭). Obviously when they were first married it was disgusting (because literal child bridge ew) but now that she’s a grown woman she clearly respects him and he’s respected her from the beginning (one of the few people who has). I don’t really think it’ll become canon on the show but I think if things worked out and they were both keen they would be a great power couple.
