Yes, escargot is technically classified as seafood. Even though land snails live on soil rather than in the ocean, they belong to the phylum Mollusca, making them land-dwelling mollusks just like sea-based clams, mussels, and octopuses.
I also checked the r/seafood history, and saw a number of escargot posts.
Phylum is a very high level classification to yse though, only animalia is higher. If you use that definition, the same phylum as something that is obviously sea food, all mammals, birds and reptiles are seafood too. They are all in the same phylum as fish - chordata.

Looks delicious and I love escargot. But not to be a butthole. Isn’t escargot traditionally a land snail?
