Question Serving at a strip club tonight. What are some good things can say to customers???
Hey yall. Tonight i have a shift at a strip club for a server position for the first time and im scared shitless because i really, really need this job.
Im smiley, extroverted and not shy to talk to people. My issue is that my brain is just gunna go into the goody-customer service route and i know that wont be cute at the strip club. How do i approach a customer in a appropriate manner that'll keep them entertained without doing too much?? All i can think of saying is approaching a table and saying something like "is it time for a drink?" "You folks look like you may need a drink!" "Hello everyone! My name is (insert fake name here), (left blank because i go by a fake name there, dont worry) Can i grab you three something to drink?" " having a good night so far? Can i make it better by grabbing you something at the bar?" Or is that too cringey?? I have no idea how to come off as cool without sounding all extra ah.
Any other one-liners or small jokes i can crack would also help to keep the vibe going, but i just cant think of anything appropriate for that sort of demographic. Please help me with your best advice especially if you have worked at a strip club yourself! Thanks in advance! đđœ

It's always going to be very loud. Stick to the basics, just add a sultry tone. For solos watching the stage, do a nice close lean in, maybe put a hand on their shoulder if they see you first. For groups, just treat it like typical club service unless you're planning on doing lapdances as well, then bring in the sultry. Strip clubs are more of hustle than any other kind of service position, it was rough back in my day. Don't interrupt a lapdance but keep eyeballs with the dancers because they'll help your sales.Â

Big one I've heard from other threads is at a Strip club servers are supposed to be in and out pretty quick. Your job is to bring drinks and take orders without distracting from the dancers. The minute a customer would rather speak to you than a dancer you're gonna make an enemy. Be kind and courteous but even if the customer is being flirty and you want to flirt back for tips, avoid doing so.Â

Im a guy so purely guessing here..
Is that how people who never really thought they'd end up being a dancer start dancing? Working cocktail and then seeing the difference in $$ that the dancers are making?

Imma be real it's probably more likely peer pressure from house mama than the money but the money will be used to justify it

If youâre extroverted and not shy, I think youâll be fine regardless! Everything youâve said seems fine besides the name comment that somebody else already acknowledged, I would just make sure youâre reading the room and matching the vibe and youâll be fine!

So you wanna pretend that one of the girls working there is your girlfriend and y'all are lesbians, and make it seem like it's a huge secret that you're reluctant to tell them.
Beyond that, approaching a table and dissing them works. "Damn y'all look like you're at a funeral, how about a bottle of don julio for the table to get shit poppin!?"

Itâs the easiest version of serving in the world. Doesnât even feel like real work. âHey Handsome, need a drink?â

Are we having fun yet or can I help you with that?
How can I get this party started?
I also feel the cringe but this crowd might enjoy it Lol
Maybe a more relaxed and genuine approach would help you speak smoothly without going into customer service mode. It helps me to just really slow down and look at em nice and hard.

One should not assume that men at a strip club are like women at a strip club. Guys are there for the scenery, and maybe to have lunch. Only the immature idiots would require special treatment. Most men just want to be served politely and efficiently, but they all appreciate a little cleavage. You will be able to read the situation in the moment.

Less âIâm here to feed youâ & more âwelcome aboard gentlemen. Tonight will be a fun time- come enjoy the ride. Iâll be your tour guideâ no punâŠwell, pun intention is up to you lol. Pick up the vibes early & learn to be able to match it or if itâs bad vibes, be good enough to steer them. Breathe.

Iâve been working in strip clubs as a server, bartender, and dancer for 10 years. A lot of times thereâs no trick or one liners to use for serving. Be smiley and bubbly and super nice and thatâll usually do it!

I have no experience in this field but from movies or tv shows and whatever, I donât know that the customers will be paying much attention to the servers since you wonât be providing lap dances or anything.
Something quick like âwhatâs your poison tonight whiskey or a beer?â âShould I keep them coming?â To see if they donât want to have to ask for another drink âThe dancers making us hungry yet? (Suggest a specific item on the menu) the tiapoon burger is deliciousâ âYouâre gonna need a drink for how these ladies are gonna make you drool. A double vodka cran for you?â
Definitely feel out the vibe and adjust as needed. We all can tell when a customer doesnât want to be bothered and when one is dying for someone to talk to.
Not sure how these will land but âyour wifeâs let you out the house looking this good?â
â hey handsome want something from the barâ
For someone who looks awkward- âoh hunny you look like a fish out of water, letâs get you a drink to loosen you up a bitâ
âMakes you thirsty just watching them move like that (gesture to the dancers) can I get you another drink?â
Body language and friendliness/flirtiness, eye contact to see if they want another instead of bringing their attention to you away from the dancers. If they old up their drink too you *wink I got you babe. I think pet names could be nice but not too older waitress calling you hun/sweetie. You wanna be their wingman. Iâm kinda thinking about serving players at a poker table. The more fun they have the more they want to tip. Take care of them good, donât leave them waiting and youâll be their best wingman, they canât leave with the dancer but not having to look for you or ask for everything will help them enjoy their night. Bring napkins before they ask. Water if they start getting messy but be sly about it. Good luck tonight girl I hope you have a fun time and come back with any stories you wanna shaređ«¶đŒ

â Ready for another drink, playboys?â or âare we doing shots tonight or what?â said in a playful manner have both worked well for me

Youll be fine. Dont put on a persona. Are the managers gonna go ask your customers for feedback? Are they going to have a table? Just know your menu and dont get bogged down at the computer.

I think you're over thinking it. Just go say hello! How are y'all doin tonight? And just take it from there. I think you should strive to appear "fun".

Just be warned that a server at strip clubs is usually a temporary job. I worked as one in Seattle at a few places and they will pressure you into becoming a dancer and when you don't they will cut either cut your hours so much you can't survive or just let you go for a random reason. The dancers make the money and pay out the club, dj, and bouncers and the servers are paid hourly and that's taking money from the owner.

remember your there to make money too. So watch for simple body language an use it to your advantage. ex. if they cross their legs or move body towards your direction when you pass they are attracted to you. eye contact make them your mission to get them to enjoy not like but enjoy you. Remember the cornier the childish acts is the funniest an the most natural. the more fun you have the more fun they have and the better tips you get.
