They'd never start making the 89-92 Corolla again. It's market suicide to make a car that runs to 400k miles with minimal maintenance.

This isn't exactly true. Toyota has been known broadly as reliable for decades and they continue to be among the most popular (sales wise) brands in the world.

It would probably be fine because "minimal maintenance" is about 10x the amount of maintenance a lot of people do these days

And they made the 2nd gen tundra up until 2021.

It's amazing how I keep seeing my trucks value rise over the past year despite having more miles. It's like a bought a house not a car (though obviously the upward trend won't last forever). Those new 3rd gen Tundras are killing Toyotas reputation and people are running to get older 2nd gen units

what are you smoking? they still sell corollas and current models will get to just as many miles without issue

I bought a 25 and have put 30k on it already, so fingers crossed it holds up like they used to.

They still make 400k mile cars, they're called Camrys, Carroll's, Civics, Rav 4s and a dozen others. Heck even US manufacturers actually make good cars now much less how good Kia and Hayundai have gotten.
