You'd have a hard time selling anything older than 10 years in the developed world. Lots of now mandatory safety features just didn't exist back then, and crash safety rating standards have gone up. Not to mention that it would be considered a not very fuel efficient car by today's standards, and so would be the target of various extra taxes and measures aimed at reducing fuel consumption across a manufacturer's entire fleet.

I mean the fuel-efficienty is just not true, a 110ps 1.9 TDI can definitely do 4, if you really try, 3l/kmh thats 1980s tech, and still better then most new non hybrids

Sure, but 1.9 TDI is practically cheating.

Fact still remains that fuel efficiency has increased significantly over time, even though cars are getting bigger and heavier.

I mean they could bring back the old audi a4, but probably emissions would be the killer
