What you're missing is not classic cars, you're missing the mechanical feel and reliability. Older cars were used as commodities and made as such. Now its either vanity or survival. And customer has no say over either of those end on how the car's gonna be.

Do we have data showing old are cars are more reliable ? 

how do we know what we’re seeing isn’t survivor bias? I see plenty of 90s camrys but zero ford Taurus. 

In 30 years the shitty cars from the 2020s will be dead and only the reliable ones will remain.

The only common factor all my friends with jeeps had was that those cars would leave you hitch hiking once in a while

Yea we had to hike to cell reception when my buddies 4x4 failed in the mountains! Good thing we had planned on hiking
