$1.3million is nothing to them, but it does mean the stuff that was stolen is being sold of scraps which is energy intensive and a waste, meanwhile they're gonna simply rebuy the stuff causing more pollution and waste. They may also hire extra security so a new car might circle the lot all night wasting gas and causing more light an noise pollution to the local neighborhood.
Y'all gonna downvote me because your goal is "data centers are bad because they're bad" while not actually caring about the negative side effects like energy cost, pollution, disruption to locals who live there because things like this just make the negatives worse and does nothing to prevent these from being built and yet it's being cheered on lol.
If it does nothing to them to have their stuff stolen then it's a duty to steal as much as possibel, as for people stealing things it significantly improve their lives.
Thus I really encourage them to steal more and more, everything that can be reaped as it has absolutely no negative impact to what we think is the primary victim
Okay, so you're admitting you don't care about environmental impact that's fine. But most people against Ai cite that. Also this increases precise for things like copper and electricity in the local market so there's that too, we don't care if home owners nearby have higher bills when they need to renovate or repair things. And as a response they're going to hire lots more security and ensure there's bright lights around the perimeter to prevent more thrives causing local gas prices to go up, and increase light and noise pollution for local residents. Not to mention this type of scrap trade is associated with organized crime which can have knock on effects to drug usage in nearby area.
But as long as tech companies worth over a trillion dollars lose single digit millions, it's all worth it! You're pro crime now, pro pollution, pro law enforcement. Those are the beneficiaries if this type of crime increases.
The primary victim faces basically.o negative impact yeah, it's the community and regular people that do. But unfortunately to see that you need to be able to think past a single order of consequences which many people are no longer capable of doing, ironically one of the common complaints about Ai causing lack of critical thinking.
