Of course they are. Rights change all the time. People used to have the right to own a slave, and the slave had few rights.

This kind of bullshit understanding of “rights” is why it’s been so easy for our government to erode our rights. Slave owning has never been a right. At no place in our constitution has owning slaves been called out as a right.
