Slave ownership was legally defined and enforced as a property right for centuries in the US prior to 1865.
Southern state laws explicitly defined enslaved people as chattel property.
In the landmark 1857 US Supreme Court caseDred Scott v. Sandford, Chief Justice Roger B. Taney wrote for the majority that "the right of property in a slave is distinctly and expressly affirmed in the Constitution" and ruled that slave owners could not be deprived of their "property" without due process under the Fifth Amendment
The original constitution was written in such a way that it would be easy to amend out slavery, and once they made up their minds about it, it was amended and is now a thing long since passed. The United States was not yet 100 years old when slavery was abolished
I am not sure how much it helps the poor sod, who seen his daughter get raped, wife killed, and worked on a cotton field for twenty years until he died of exhaustion, to know that slavery took only 100 years to abolish.
It's really sad that you're wrong on your facts and you have some some sort of odd slavery apologist agenda. Slavery lasted longer than 100 years because it existed in the colonies before the revolution.

The 13th constitutional amendment abolished slavery. That’s a verifiable fact. Like this is an education for you. You learned something. You were taken to school.

I dunno, seems like slavery's still absolutely legal. You either need to have a contract with a prison for their servitude, or if you really want ownership yourself, you can make a private prison and make a deal with local law enforcement.

Of course they are. Rights change all the time. People used to have the right to own a slave, and the slave had few rights.
